What a beautiful table! It is hard for me to tell from the photo, but are the chairs painted black in that last photo? I would leave it as is in the bottom photo (or paint the chairs if they are not actually that colour). I think that putting a lighter distressed finish on the chairs would detract from the table top, which you want to be the focus. I think the darker, plain chairs anchor the table and compliment it without competing with it. I always love a thrifty deal, and what a great transformation for a second hand table and chair set! I agree with heartcat

I love the clock table. Beautiful. I would leave it as it is in the bottom photo. I think if you do the white distress treatment it's going to take away from the face of the clock. This is coming from the girl that loves the white wash shabby cottage look.

Is your white distressed piece going to be in the same room as your table??
If so...
I would have the top of the table distressed like the sideboard.
Leave the base of the table natural.
Paint the chairs the same color as the top of the sideboard.
BTW....I LOVE the clock table!!

I prefer the way it looks in the picture with the natural legs- beautiful table!

I like the white finish, personally... the orange-y wood color seems a bit dated to me (or could be, anyway)
eta: wait, I'm confused-- the clock table photo is an example, correct? That's not your table, just the way you want yours to turn out?
I'd do the table all whitewashed (again, because I personally don't like the orange-ish cast to the wood) and paint the chairs some color that will match the other items in the room / house.
