I could use some today. I am having shoulder surgery in two weeks. I went last week for my pre-op tests. EKG, glucose, chest xray and blood work. The surgeon's nurse called and said that the anesthesiologist found abnormalities on my EKG and that I can't have the surgery until other tests are done. I am going for those tests today and I am really nervous about it. I have to have this shoulder surgery. I have been dealing with it for almost 5 months and I can't take it anymore. Besides that, I am going to have a great-grandson in about 5 weeks and I need to be able to hold him!!

((HUGS)). I hope your tests today show there are no problems so your surgery can happen as planned. Congrats on the great-grandbaby.

I'm so sorry you're having to wait. My sister is in having a shoulder replacement surgery today. She goes in at 10:30. She has already had both shoulders repaired, one of them twice. Now she is getting a total replacement because the repairs didn't do enough to stop her pain and return her range of motion. I know listening to her how anxious she was to just get it over with, so I can empathize with you for having to delay it. You will be in my prayers.

Thanks for the positive thoughts and prayers! They seemed to have worked. After a lengthy physical, my doctor cleared me for the surgery. Yay! He said as long as the anesthesiologist doesn't have any other concerns, I should be good to go. Of course I am nervous about the surgery, I am ready to have 2 functioning arms!

I'm so glad that everything is ok. I have some heart problems, and anesthesiology is no issue for me. They're just aware of what can happen, but they know what to do if my tachycardia got out of control. It's benign most of the time. It sounds really scary and horrible and like your surgery could be cancelled, but the doctors just want to make sure everything's ok BEFORE they get you into surgery and put so much stress on your heart. I hope your surgery goes well and you get the full range of motion back and no more pain.
