Oh the crazy abounds on that show. I remember one woman who flat out refused a tub in her master bathroom. Like, deal breaker refused.
As someone who tried to sell a house recently, I've said more than once that we live in a HGTV world of unrealistic expectations and demands. I want to smack the 20 year olds who can't exist in a house without granite and SS. I mean, seriously, you won't DIE if you have laminate countertops. Get a grip.

I showed it to the turtles, but they didn't like it so I'll have to pass. ROFL...that was the episode that sent me over the edge with this show! Wait, I don't watch the show. Was that real?

The one my DH and I always laugh about is the "Jackson" episode. These parents kept saying "Jackson won't like this...Jackson needs a bigger yard...Jackson this ..Jackson that" this was their 2yr kid. I remember another show picked up on this particular episode and made a drinking game out of every time their kids name was mentioned.
To this day I can't stand the name Jackson (no offense to any moms to a Jackson)

We have a turtle in our front yard pond. He gets turtle food thrown at him every few days, that is about the extent of our interaction. Clearly I'm doing it wrong.

Funny thread! People like the turtle lady... well, if you can't say anything nice, you aren't supposed to say anything at all. So I'll just leave it alone.

DH & I watched one where the dog was named Izzy and the girl was named Scout, and throughout the the show they kept saying how "scout" needed this and "Scout needed that", and DH could NOT get it to stick in his brain that Izzy was the dog and Scout was the kid and he kept saying "Why is all about the dog instead of the kid?", and I'd remind him that Scout WAS the kid. 5 minutes later he'd be at it again. And I'd say "Dude, Scout IS the kid!!!". LOL! This is why my kids have boring names.

The Micky lover was going to LSU and the after segment showed her Micky collection all displayed. I think she chose a duplex or townhouse. The other two options had lots of Louisiana character so I knew she was going with the bland box. I stalked that episode forever before I was able to watch it. The old TWOP boards had some of the best HGTV and Food Network boards which is how I found out about that episode. Also used to live, love, love Buy Me. I remember that episode. I believe she was going to Loyola, not LSU. She was in New Orleans and bought a townhouse close to campus.

So if I read this thread right, today when I go looking for a house my daughter and I should bring all the pets, carefully examine paint colors, and immediately kick out any house that doesn't have granite and SS appliances??? (even if I don't really care about these things? ) Perfect thread to read this morning just before I go house hunting.

It's like nails on a chalkboard for me when I hear a young couple say that they must have double sinks in the master bathroom.
In 25 years of marriage, my husband & I have never stood side by side and brushed our teeth.
Most hotel rooms only have one sink. What do they do when they travel?

"I'm not sure about the location, since it's not in our current neighborhood like we want. This foyer is a little small. We would have to repaint & remove the tapestry on the wall & all the railing since they aren't our style. The niches are too small to hold my scrapbooks & the steps are too narrow, so we'd also have to replace them. We need to keep looking because the house is already over budget, needs too much updating, & isn't on our current street."

Oh but those tray ceilings are to die for. (I never heard of ceilings like that called tray ceilings until this show) .... BLECH.

But there is enough room for entertaining... Not entertaining. Entertaining guests.
