Once I pulled up to the pump at a quick trip in North Kansas City. I heard someone screaming and turned and saw this woman kicking someone on the ground. I thought it was a kid. I screamed at her and went over and broke them up. Turns out, it was one of her co-workers. The aggressor thought that the victim was messing with "her man". I was AMAZED at how many people there were there (at least 30) that just stood and watched. One guy came up to me and said "I thought it was a guy beating up his girlfriend". I was like WTF!! I guess if it's your bf it's ok if he beats you up. No one called the cops except for the clerk inside the QT. Isn't that sad??

I would. And I did several years ago. And about 6 months after the incident, I got served papers that I was an eye witness in a case of assault with a deadly weapon. I don't recal giving my number at all and so they found my number (it actually happened in a different state than I reside, complicating matters). Then followed a year of waiting for a trial and getting random mail informing me of progress in the case. I was less than pleased to be dragged into this situation as an innocent passerby. There was no way I could have given any useful info in the case, and, in the end, he plea bargained. Such a mess and I was so glad when it was over. I thought about it a lot though, and I still think I'd call if it happened again.
