Especially if you are 50+ but anyone can weigh in.
I'm approaching 50 a bit too soon for my liking (this summer) but things are changing in that area, but for the better it seems. Has this been your experience? I thought I had read/heard that things should be waning?
For me, I think it's just a feeling that at this age, I'm more comfortable with myself. Also, little to no risk of getting pregnant (knock on wood).
What has your experience been like?
ETA: We've been married for 21 years so I think I also feel pretty comfortable being myself around DH.

Mine has gone right down the tubes, mostly because DH and I let ourselves go physically. I just get disinterested thinking about it with me and him. He on the other hand has no qualms. But I am quite happy without it.
If we got into better shape, which I am currently trying to do, I might get some interest. But he has some work to do as well. I do think that some physical attraction is necessary, and I just don't have it for myself or DH right now.
We are late 50's and married 27 years.

i am in my 40s and feel like i am hitting my stride again. after many years of exhaustion and sleeplessness.... i am way more interested now than 15 years ago.
i am especially more interested since my DH *finally* got a much-overdue haircut and is no longer sporting the "man-bob"!!
(we have been together for 25 years)

Let's just say that menopause has not been my friend in any way, shape, or activity. I lost my period, my figure, and my libido. I would gladly have my period back if I could go back to my pre-menopause weight and interest levels.

Had a complete hysterectomy 9 years ago when I was 46 and immediately started HRT (pellets). All I know is that those pellets still work pretty good- just need a man...

menopause killed my libido. HRT helped, but 7 years later it's not even slightly close to what it was pre-menopause. My menopause was medically induced. Based on my mom, I assume my period would still be going strong at my current age of 50...along with my libido.

45 years old here and mine is gone gone gone. It's probably because the antidepressant I'm on. Wish I didn't need it. Feel bad for DH, but he's understanding and doesn't complain. He prefers me happy than crying all the time for no reason.

I just turned fifty last week. After sex my husband told me that 50 was a good year for me. I told him I was like 2- 25 year olds. It also really helps that Friday was my last day of work. You gotta have energy. During the school year I definitely did not.

Zero libido here but DH had surgery for prostate cancer several years ago and his libido matches mine. It's all good... we're happy & still very compatible.  |

Mine turned a corner a few years ago when I had my hysterectomy. Unfortunately, my DH's also turned a corner and he is completely fine going without  I'm 45 and he is 52. |

This thread is giving me hope and depressing me all at the same time...lol... I am turning 40 in July and since I was about 35 my libido has been higher than it ever was. My love language is also touch so sex is important to me. I am so scared that menopause is going to kill my libido. I like what DH and I have going right now. I don't want that to change.
