I was excited to see this with my 11 year old. He lives history. But the first scene showed a firing squad and I got cold feet. Am I being too sensitive?

Don't bother - we watched about 15 min of one episode and the dialogue was horrid.
DH and I can't figure out why people think it is so great - anyone I have talked to said it it awful

I am a huge fan of all things history and was SOOO looking foward to watching this. I made it all of about 15 minutes before I stopped watching. Maybe I needed to give it more time, but honestly it was almost painfully slow. I wasn't expecting a lot of action, but there wasn't anything happening at ALL. I am pretty disappointed to tell you the truth. I am sorry, I can't tell you anything more beyond the first little bit.  |

Awww, I hate to hear that it sucks. We DVRd it to watch later. I have been looking forward to this for months. I'll give it a chance and hope I like it.

some one called it John Wayne history...only somewhat resembling events that happened..but pretty bad
