So, my stove/oven died. It's been fixed several times, so it's time to just go ahead and buy a new one. It's been a while since we've done this, so any recommendations would be great. What kind do you have, would you buy it again?
Also, there seem to be a lot of convection ovens. I need to do some research, I'm not quite sure of the pros/cons. Any advice?
I'm not an excellent cook, but I love to bake. It's been raining so much here, that I really want to spend the weekend inside baking cookies!

I have an LG and I like it ok. It does have the convection option but I've not used it in the 4 years I've had it and I bake a lot. I've been cooking and baking for a long time and my recipes and all that I've found work well with just the regular bake setting. I guess I'm too old school, why would I try something new when the old way works just fine for me.
When I need to replace my oven I won't purposely buy one with a convection option but sometimes to get features you want you have to get some you may not ever want or need.

In our old house we put in a Jenn-Air 5 burner cooktop and a Jenn-Air double oven. The bottom oven was regular/convection (I rarely used the convection) and it had a proofing/drying feature. Loved my Jenn-Airs. I miss them every time I cook/bake.
We currently have a 1950's Wolf range. Six burners and the oven fits four half-sheet pans. I'd love to get rid of it, but to replace it, I'm looking at $10K for a comparable unit for the space. :/
ETA: The thing I that about the Wolf is that it runs on propane and it's so old there is no electronic ignition. So I feel like I'm just burning money all day, everyday. But it still works great.

I have a GE gas oven and I like it a lot. I didn't get a convection oven because I knew that I wouldn't use it.

I loved my convection oven when I had it. Try it sometime! Just take 25 degrees off and cook for the regular amount of time and see if you notice the difference. I currently have an 80's special I bought used for $50 when I bought this house. I can't wait to buy a new gas one when I move this summer!

I currently have an 80's special I bought used for $50 when I bought this house. I can't wait to buy a new gas one when I move this summer! If i set my oven on convection it automatically knocks off 25 degrees. We have a GE Cafe with dual fuel--gas range and electric ovens. I'm very happy with it. I have the choice of conventional or convection. For baking I use convection.

We have this one and are happy with it. There were some minor hiccups at first (non-essential part was missing and it took a couple of months to get it due to samsung's craptastic cs). I usually leave it the same temp and knock off a few minutes of the time instead. I rarely use convection though.

we just replaced our Kitchen Aid with a Samsung. It's a 5 burner with a center grill/griddle burner. I like it better than the KA and it's easier to keep the top clean. My very sad backsplash. My kitchen is in desperate need of a reno! The stove when we moved in covered the yellow and missing tiles. Boy was that a surprise when we pulled out the old stove.
