It was good to get out yesterday morning after having to miss the last two Saturdays for one reason or another. The first sale of the day was an estate sale that was listed on line and featured over 200 photos of items for sale. I saw a couple of things that interested me, including a vintage tan Viewmaster like the one I had and loved as a girl.
When we got there and there was already a line up outside of the house. They were using a service to host the sale, people in matching shirts working each room, and someone manning the door and giving out tickets. I have never lined up for a garage/estate sale before, but did and managed to get in with the first group once they started letting people in.
I hurried from room to room, trying to do a quick scan of everything, searching for the Viewmaster. I finally found it in the basement. It was marked $10 for the Viewmaster and a small collection of vintage reels. More than I'd normally pay, but it was a nostalgic and sentimental purchase, so I took it. They also had some vintage hats and I picked up a dark blue one with netting for another $10. That was all I bought there, but it was worth going.
At another sale I got a Fisher Price vibrating bouncy rocker chair that transitions from infant to toddler, and has hanging toys, for $10. Now when dgs visits he won't have to sit in his car seat. She also threw in another small baby toy.
A church at the end of our street was having their sale and I picked up several perennials, from $3 for a gallon pot, to $1 for a smaller pot. I have no idea what a few of them are, but my mom is coming over today and will identify them for me.
For another $8 at this sale I picked up a short sleeved blouse, a hummingbird feeder (one of the things I was specifically hoping to find), a plastic case with small gardening tools, a wrist brace, a stuffed dog toy, a set of two tea cups, saucers and dessert plates with an English ivy pattern and a book of jazz music for the guitar for ds.
At the last sale of the day I bought a Keurig k-cup storage drawer (tall slim one that holds 24 cups), a pair of denim shorts, and a small red plant pot, for $4.
