OMG. My DD would pass out (after screaming uncontrollably for 15 minutes!) if something like that turned up in our yard! She really hates "bugs" LOL. It is rather pretty though!

Lucky to get so close, help it and get photos. Wow. Never have I seen or heard of such a critter (and kinda glad of that too). It's huge!
The biggest moths I've ever come across are those found in the Animal Crossing game (thank goodness).

Our family call us animal whisperers! We have all kinds of animals that come here to eat and we have raised several different babies.

Oh, he is so beautiful. Thank you for warming him up and posting his photo.
I found a box turtle today in the street. Took him home and put him in my courtyard.

They like lilacs too. If you have them nearby, you might get to see the caterpillars!

That moth is gorgeous! I'm glad I finally opened this thread. I kept scrolling past it because I didn't think a moth could be that interesting. I was wrong!

I hesitated to open this thread for a few days because I hate moths, lol. But curiosity got the better of me, and I figured it's not like it will be fluttering around (which I hate!). It is quite amazing. I have never seen anything like that either. Thankfully, because IRL it would freak me out! Glad that you figured out how to post photos now.

Thanks for sharing (and saving!) this gorgeous creature. It's size is amazing. I've seen Luna and Prometheus moths before, but nothing on this scale. Awesome!
