thanks for the link! they started out as funny, but as I looked at more of them, I went from laughing to more of WTF?? Restaurants in the UK actually serve the food to you this way? No way would I eat off of something that looks like our kitty tower, eat my salad with tweezers out of an aluminum foil packet, or 'dig' my salad out of a pot filled with...dirt??

Hysterical - I'm obviously eating at the wrong places. Thanks for sharing .

I haven't had chips served in a baked bean can yet but serving chips in some sort of container seems to be current 'food fashion' all around the UK now.....as is being offered plain or spicy chips and thick or thin chips. So far we've just been served them in white pottery bowls or small baskets - but I'm really looking forward to getting a more unusual container just for the laughs and head shaking it will produce! Just as long as long as they don't serve my steak on a slate!! Can you imagine the noise that a steak knife makes on slate? Fingernails on blackboard, anyone? {shudder} Ohhhh, that would be really cringe worthy wouldn't it? Just doesn't bear thinking about! Jamie's Italian serves beefburgers on a plank (board) and serves the plain or spicy chunky chips served in a white pottery bowl but keeps well away from slate, thank goodness!!
