It was filmed at my uncle's lodge so I wondered if its worth watching. The trailer looked pretty good! I see bears a lot but I enjoy it every time.

I haven't watched the live action Bears movie because I'm afraid one of them will die The Disney bears movie for me will continue to be Brother Bear which three of our dogs are named after

I watched it a month or so ago. I was so tense during the 30 minutes or so that we watched I had DH change the channel. I just kept waiting for one to die. As of the channel change, none had. They humanize them too much. Or rather, I humanize them too much.

It was very good. The scenery is just breathtaking and majestic. They don't give a light-hearted view of living in Alaska. There are certainly harsh times and scary times. Lots of predators. But that is how it is. @ putabuttononit can attest to the precariousness of living there, I am sure. I can't imagine seeing bears all the time. The wildest thing I get in my neck of the woods are deer on the side of the road, possums, raccoons, and the occasional otter. Nothing that is going to rip me apart.

It's OK. They anthropomorphize too much, but it's Disney, so that's to be expected. DS thought it was good for a theater movie, which he generally doesn't like, but prefers more realistic, less story-fied documentaries.

My dad spent several years in Alaska during the 70's building boom I asked him to take me hunting once but he said no. I guess he really did know better
