I saw that this morning...I always love learning about other religions and her explanation of shiva and then the 30 days was so enlightening. But you're right...what a great love they had.

I read it this morning and was just so touched by her honesty and strength.

She is the epitome of grace. I really admire her, much more so now than after having read her book (which was ok but didn't blow my mind).

What an heartfelt and amazing post.
I love that Mark Zuckerberg was one of the first people to respond to it.
My sister lost her husband a year ago and she said she could relate to everything she said.
I admit to being a blubbery mess.

It's an exquisite piece of writing. She is able to articulate grief very well.

I don't know how women who lose a spouse go forward. My heart hurts each time I hear of it. My husband has a chronic illness and I always know the axe could fall at any time in my own life, and I get a catch in my throat and an ache in my heart for those women who must suffer my own worst fear. She is brave and strong for sharing this.

I have to say that one of the things I appreciated most was her recognition of her own deficits when it came to dealing with others who were grieving and her acknowledgment of it. In the midst of her devastation she was really able to look at herself and the impact she had on others in the past. I think it really says a lot about who she is that the focus was not solely on her own experience of now. I've never paid that much attention to her, but I will now.
