I turn on the TV at 1:30 and have my lunch watching House Hunter International. Then, I will maybe watch The Talk or stick to HGTV or the Food Network for another hour. Then it's off till later in the evening.

Some daytime programming makes you feel like a loser for watching them. Seriously, are they all just variations of paternity / court room / or round table talk shows?

The only thing I watch during the day is DogTV for my fur kids. I keep the volume off and listen to my music on my Echo.
My pups love their DogTV!!!

We have 2 very "fancy" TVs and another one upstairs, too. That makes 3 TVs for us. I don't even know how to turn ON the TVs in the house. I don't watch TV because I find it noisy. I hate commercials and I don't follow soaps anymore either. Laptops, iPads, iPhones etc are my thing. I just don't watch TV.

I used to do exactly as you described.
I needed background noise as I did everything around the house.
For the last 2 weeks I have started reading and I am much happier and don't miss TV at all.
I started with a friend lending me what she thought was a romance novel that was actually a little smutty.
I read it within 24 hours and thought it was fun : )
Since then I have read a few more books, both smutty and not.
It may not last, but for the time being I am happy and have lost a few more pounds.

Not normally. I'm off now for the summer. Dh has the tv on whenever he is in the house. I am not a tv person, other than Mad Men and Downton Abbey. I relish the time when it is off. I read, pea, scrap, and could go for days without turning on the tv. I have watched more daytime tv lately because of the NCAA Baseball Tournament. We follow the Razorbacks.

Really, most TV shows annoy me. Daytime shows- I can't handle them. Maybe Ellen would be fun? But I'm not slowing down my day just to watch it. Our TV is off most of the time. The kids will watch PBS if the weather is bad and they're stuck inside.

I love daytime tv - especially morning tv! When I was on maternity leave, I usually watched all of the today show (sometimes switching back and forthe with Kelly and Micheal) Price is Right, and the Young and the Restless!
I also have a crush on Willie Geist, I just think he's down to earth and funny and think if we went to college together, we totally would've dated! please tell me I'm not the only one!

I too like to have something on, but I never sit and watch tv. During the day, I am usually cleaning while it is on (I have three girls, cleaning never ends!). I can only sit for The Middle. I love that show!
If I am actually sitting on the sofa, I have the computer.
I like The Chew, Racheal Ray, Today Show, Today with Kathy Lee and Hoda.

The TV is on but usually on the weather channel if I can't find something else. I don't like daytime soapies- my mum is a huge fan but eh, never really did get into them. I don't mind the chew though, it's different and quite entertaining at times
