The tumor is out and ended up being closer to grapefruit than baseball. Spent more days in ICU than I wanted but I was able to get discharged Friday evening. We spent the night in a hotel so we could start fresh this morning and we are on the way home right now. I feel so much better already even though I look like fruit ninja sliced and diced me. Not having all those various hormones flooding into me has made me feel like a new person. I'm still having to take some cortisone since that one was low after the surgery but I'm already able to come off the blood pressure meds. The hypertension resolved by the end of my incision day. Pathology is still not back but should be by the time of my follow up appointment next Friday. My husband is eager to hear but oddly, I'm not in a hurry. Until the report is done, the cat is both alive and dead and I'm ok with keeping the box closed for now. Appreciate all the words of support. I'm so ready to get home and start my recovery proper. ******************************** Pathology came back. Stage II adrenal cortical carcinoma. There are a lot of factors influencing long term outcome but I still was lucky to have clean margins as that gives the best chance of good outcome. Endocrine team is trying to get me an appt with oncology this Friday so I can go the same day as my surgical follow up and keep me from having to drive to Dallas twice. Being pushy continues to make sense. Five year survival for stage II is up to 60%. Stage IV is less than 5%.

You are truly a great Pea, compwalla. Your personality, your insight, you are an inspiration. From what I've seen, you've handled this with grace. I'm certain it's weird to hear, but thank you for being a Pea. You bring something great to this board and I hope that you continue to do so for many years to come. Best wishes and good luck!

Won't it be nice to be back at home? Hope you get lots of rest and the healing process goes smoothly.
I love the cat in the box analogy. A wise way to look at it for now.
(I know it's wrong but I'm now humming the "My Dick in a Box" song. Sorry.)
