I have a huge collection of 3.5x5 photos that I'd like to put into pages. They don't really work with the 3x4 and 4x6 pockets. Sometimes, it works if I crop the photo or if I mount the photo and add a caption. But for a lot of them, I just want to put them in order and be done with it. I do have letter size pages with pockets for this size photo, but they aren't as nice and I can't fit as many photos on a page. Any suggestions?

For the time being, I put my 3x5's in the 4x6 pockets. Sometimes, I pick some of them and mount them on larger paper to fit.
I've really enjoyed taking one or two and doing a 12x12 page across from a pocket page.
I really, REALLY, wanted 12x12 pages with the right sized pockets fir a long time. Now, I don't care.
If I did, I'd buy the fuse tool to make pockets the size I wabted on 12x12 whole sleeves, or maybe even get out the sewing machine and make my own that way.
I still have a ton of the old pocket sheets made for that size. Sometimes, I just use those as is and sometimes I cut them and only use some of the pockets... like the Project Life inserts.

Before I made scrapbooks (way back in the dark ages even before CM), I used Hallmark post bound albums with pocket pages that fit 3x5 pictures. I wonder if they are still available, and if they would fit the newer ring albums. For that matter, if they are still making them, you could just get the Hallmark albums that fit the pages. They made some really pretty covers.

Thanks for the ideas. It does bother me a bit when I put the smaller photos into the 4x6 pockets and they slide around and you can see the back of the photo, but maybe I just need to get over that. I'll have to look at Hallmark to see what kind of pages they have. I don't mind punching holes or mixing page sizes since like I said, I have letter size pages for that size photo. I was just hoping to get more photos per page.

Years ago (like 15) I took a few albums apart and put all of those smaller photos into a CM album. I did VERY simple pages with mostly photos, journaling and a few titles/embellishments. I must have 5 years of photos in that album. To this day it's one of my favorites. So you could always just adhere them to 12x12 paper and keep the layout design pretty simple (or check Ebay for a CM album).

I've only ever seen 3.5x5 pockets in the letter size (8.5x11), but if anyone wants those, Container Store used to sell them and the quality was pretty nice.

I would probably back them on cardstock or PP and put them in 4 by 6 slots. Just make a bunch of cards out of the same paper so you don't have to think about it!
You could get a fuse but that would involve a bit of work and your photos wouldn't fit exactly in a 12 by 12 so you'd still need to find a way to work around it.

I'm in the process of doing my mom's pictures from 1980 and on. I'm using the pages with 4x4 and 3x4 slots and it has worked well.

Unfortunately the math doesn't work well with a 12x12 page and 3.5x5 photos.

I mount mine on 4x6 cards. Sometimes I journal or embellish on the extra card space.

Most of my PL photos I print smaller than pocket size anyway - and mount on cards or patterned paper so I can journal and embellish. So I'd the same for your photos.

I feel your pain - I had the same problem for a long time and did two HUGE vacation scrapbooks with 3 x 5 photos - ALL MATTED - it was such a long process. Unfortunately I don't think there's any solution because mathematically, that size just doesn't work for a 12" x 12" page protector. So you either have to mat them or be OK with them sliding around. I finally got a new camera that takes pics in the 3:2 ratio instead of the 3 x 5 size.
