Shimelle announced "Ready Set Scrapbook" Friday ... a new class. I ordered it through PayPal -- sent an email at 24 hours to make sure my email address was noted correctly; send an email at 48 hours about non receipt.
If you ordered the class, have you received it?

I have yet to receive mine, but just purchased it yesterday afternoon. I DID, however, receive a link to the Hitchhiker's Guide, which I had purchased at 2Peas.

I received mine. I have other classes on her site so I was able to log in and just go to my list of classes there.

What is this class you speak of? I have seen some of the paper at TM, but that is it. Off to Google.

Thank you -- I have now received the class. I had: 1) written at 24 hours; 2) written at 48 hours; 3) checked my class listing on her classes forum. It was an issue between a former email address (under which my account was listed) and my current email address -- getting "joined".

I just signed up last night so I'm sure I'll have it tonight or tomorrow. Anyone watched any yet? I watched all 3 videos today. It is a VERY basic class. She gives 3 different basic designs, explaining why she does what she does as she goes along. If you have watched any/all of her GG videos, you've heard all of it before. It was fun seeing/hearing her teach again, though.

I was kinda of afraid for the low price that it might be super short of very basic...darn it... I was looking at 10 lesson series on Craftsy for $15 but decided on this becuase Shimelle always give us so much content, oh well. I'll watch it and if it gets me scrapping and using my stash - it's totally worth it!

I watched the first lesson tonight and did a layout with it. Ive never learned basic layout flow strategies so I think it will help me. Normally I just make up my own design and it takes me forever. I was able to finish this layout quickly using her diagonal placement strategy.

just received my email from her tonight but haven't gotten farther than that. Is the class video available to watch right away or is it something coming up?

It was fun seeing/hearing her teach again, though. I watched the 1st one, and ya, underwhelmed. Honestly I don't like any of the layouts on the class as shown in the PDF- they are just thrown together using a ton of her line inmho . In general I am not a cluttered page scrapper, but I have always been inspired to scrap from Shimelle's class and usually will find a jumping off point with the foundations on her pages and then make it my own. I maybe can do that Here- but I am so put off the 1st layout - horizontal stripes, polka-dots - were fine until she added the wide striped in blues... and then flowers.. maybe you ladies like it, but not for me. It is very very basic and as you said, all stuff she has said and shown before. Well I have always found I got great inspiration from Shimelle classes, so 2 duds out of like 15 still isn't bad;) I hope others who take this class enjoy, it's just not for me.

since you ladies are saying this is very basic, what were some of your classes you took that were more in depth? I would love to try one that you ladies recommend!

It may be more simple, but I still think Shimelle does a good job. even though I have been scrapping for over 10 years I still learn from her. And the class was not expensive. I am still wishing for the Master Class thing she was supposedly doing...(remember that? from the 2peas days?!) I have taken LOTS of Shimelle classes and I would recommend all the ones I have taken, but in particular probably: Return to the Collection; Hitchhiker's Guide, Pretty Paper Party and Scrapbook Remix. Just know that these classes are not new so she will be using slightly older supplies. I didn't take her Glitter Girl class (I don't recall the name) from 2Peas, but when she puts it up on her site, I will definitely take that too.

THe Perfect Collection from Shimelle! She shows a way to sue an entire collection - any collection by following her cut guides and foundation pages. Really changed by collection pack scrapbooking! I think it's like $20 maybe $18. I really recommned this one.

I loved her idea of cutting off all the branding strips when you receive a kit and keeping them there with your paper to use as embellishments. I think she is a FABULOUS teacher!

I love Shumelle, and think she's a great teacher as well, but this class just didn't do it for me. Now, Glitter Girl??? I could watch those videos in my sleep and learn something. I REALLY miss those videos.

I agree, the first video was simple. But, I really enjoyed it. I never thought to vary my embellishment clusters by size, using nearly identical items. I loved that. I haven't watched the other two, yet. doesitmatter - it really threw me when she used the piece of blue striped paper, too. I didn't think it went with the rest of the paper. I did like how she cut the width of it by checking the back of the page first. I don't always think of that.
