When do you use liquid glue and when do you use double sided adhesive? I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos and see liquid glue used a lot when I would use tape.
Also, does anyone know what the difference is between the liquid Tombows with the blue or green lids? I have the blue lid but see everyone using green. I compared the packages last time I was at Michael's and besides one being clear and one being white I didn't see the difference.

Adhesive - I use regular old 3M Scotch double sided tape if I'm making a card and my ATG is not within reach. I use regular old 3M Scotch brand puffy tape instead of expensive pop dots. To me, a card doesn't need to be acid free. I use tape if it's a big area like a background paper or layering.
Glue - I was using Zig 2 Way, until I noticed that some old die cuts were coming apart. Now I just use a dot or so of Glossy Accents. I bought a precision tip bottle from Amazon and filled it from my big bottle of GA. I use it for delicate die cuts or to adhere embellishments. I've never used Tombow.

I just find it easier to use. I do like to use a liquid glue if adhering small bits of paper or embellishments to paper. I prefer Crystal Effects or Tombow multi glue (green cap). From what I know about the blue & green cap glue is the difference is the blue cap glue is clear and supposedly warps paper pretty badly. I've never used it personally...just opinions I've heard from my customers.

DEFINITELY Glue!!! AND I only use the Best Glue Ever™!!!
It's so versatile and economical and works sooooo well! You can add the tiniest little dots on intricate die cuts, you can make your own homemade glue dots, you can adhere paper to pear without wrinkling but also all sorts of embellishments from tiny gems to chunky charms and everything in-between (buttons, fibers, fabric, acrylic pieces, vellum). You can use it for writing and apply glitter or foil, stamp with it, and it holds forever. You can also re-sticky die cut mats, and doesn't dry up in the bottle PLUS it is so economical. And I could go on....but I'll stop here:)
I have lots of things that have fallen off over the years when I used tapes. And they are limited to just flat paper-type things. And it gets spendy. And over time, the stored stuff loses it's strength so I can't even buy in bulk, and I could go on.

I definitely use glue when I'm trying to hear something a run through it embossing folder. It seems to work much better than tape and get into the crevices and allowing something to stick to it or the paper to stick something else. Other than that, it's just whatever I pick up.

I like liquid glue for smaller pieces, intricate cuts (fine tip applicator) or heavier items. I use glossy accents, Scotch quick-dry adhesive, and aleene's tacky glue. I think it holds up long term better than the tape runners, although I will still use my ATG because it's easier than liquid glue. (just my personal opinion)

Thanks for all the opinions. I only use liquid for something small or intricate, which is seems others are doing, too.
The YouTube videos I've seen have been using liquid on large, flat pieces which is why I asked the question.

Last evening while working on a page, I had a bottle of Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive open for some wood veneer pieces and ended up using it on the top layers of paper too. Usually don't, but it was open and there. Let me tell you, when I later wanted to tuck a piece, there was NO tucking going on. It definitely sticks well!!

I use my ATG for nealy everything. I use glossy acccents for metal or acrylic and someitmes wood embellishments....or for some clear embellishments. But if I can ATG I do, I tend to make a big mess with liquid glue!

I've been on a wet glue kick lately. I like it for cardmaking because it allows me to wiggle pieces into perfect alignment say for matting. Therefore I also use wet glue when matting photos. Also certain wet glues dry rigid which gives my cards this really nice weight to them that I like.

JustTricia......Yes, to what scraphappyinjax said about the blue and green Tombow liquid glue. The blue warps your paper, the green does not. I have both.

I also use my ATG for just about anything. I have a few intricate dies where I will use a glue pen to adhere those.
If I have small pieces I will run them through my "X" xryon.

I just started using Martha Stewart Gel Adhesive (2.99 at Michaels). I'm really liking it! I have not used my ATG in almost 6 months on a card now that I've discovered the magic of wet glue.

I tried to use a sheet of adhesive and boy that went downhill quick. I ended up using YES! paste. Gave me enough time for some wiggle room however once dry those die cuts were never coming off.

I use all different kinds of adhesive, glossy accents, stickles, blue lid tombow, ATG, Zig 2-way, score tape, glue dots, pop dots etc. Whatever I think will work best on the project I'm working on!
