Since alissa103 is keeping us tempted with her monthly TM finds thread, I was wondering if we could keep a monthly thread to keep us accountable for our plans to stay Frozen/Frosty that we made in mikklynn 's recent post? (By the way, Alissa, I love the TM thread....I'm just weak when tempted!) Please come in and report on your goals and progress! I've decided to be frosty... 50 pages/projects before any unplanned buying! (Not a super big goal but I'll probably let myself defrost once this is done and then set another goal! Everything in moderation!). So far, I've made one page since Mikklyn's thread! Time to get scrapping! Anyone else want to share your progress?

Well, I haven't bought anything this month, I've been good so far. I did manage to do four layouts! (I will be jumping off the bandwagon for one day in July! CKC Lancster!)

While I didn't get any scrapping done this weekend, I did pass up a HUGE shopping opportunity and think I deserve credit, lol.
A friend of mine & a friend of hers went to a garage sale and picked up a monster lot of scrapping stuff. They paid $600 and said they got a real deal (they used to own a scrapbooking store, so they know what they speak of).
This weekend they started grouping things for ebay sales and invited me to come have a first look at the stash.
I passed.
Waiting for the applause . . .

For tiffanytwisted , Any idea what $600 worth of scrappy stuff looks like at garage sale prices?

Didn't see an applause button and I'm not as clever as alittleintrepid....

I made a 1 card design 4 times. I'm working on a layout, but putting off finishing as I have to print and cut...My printer seems to be eating ink these days.
For goals, I have 3 wire rectangular baskets to buy for organizing but otherwise, I'll set my goal to 30. (Insert sheepish shrug) --I want it to be achievable. Which means I'm at 29 to go.

Thanks for starting this!
I'm a reasonably slow scrapper so I'm setting my goal at 20 layouts. To keep myself accountable my rules are:
One page counts as:
* digi or paper * a 2 page layout is 2 pages off my total * any layout that I pull out of my unfinished pile and actually complete counts as a full layout
Now, if I could just get off the internet and onto scrapping...

Let's see...it's June 7, and I lasted until June 5, but I was out of town until the 3rd, so I really only made it through one day. It's that darn TM. I just have to go in and see what's new. Then I needed Bazill paper to go with the Simple Story papers I'm using right now, so I had to go to my LSS. Maybe I'll have better restraint next week. At least I'm doing about 1 layout per day.

maybe y'all can live vicariously through my TM finds LOL! I'm not joining in on the frozen challenge, but I do love "use your stash" challenges, so I will participate in that part! Maybe I will do it with my TM stash I've acquired over the last couple of months? I haven't purchased new scrappy stuff for a few years, as we had a baby and then we moved and my room was still in boxes… when I finally got it all organized and cleaned up this winter, I was in desperate need of boy papers to scrap my little guy. So I'm still in the "acquisition" phase in a way. My stash prior to him being born was pretty pink and frilly. I had very few little boy and baby appropriate papers, I realized when I finally got down to scrapping this winter. Hence my TM obsession at the moment. Ha. But go frozen peas, go! I will try not to enable.

No purchases for me since May 15th. That was a planned purchase of a new line to do my wedding album. Haven't scrapped anything either. I am finishing up a complete redo of my craft toom so that has been my focus. I should be ok in the puchase department as long as I stay out of the stores.

alittleintrepid Thanks for keeping me motivated. I've stuck to it, but it's a LONG way until January. I was really tempted by a recent Peachy Cheap deal. I need to unsubscribe to those kind of sites. alissa103 I love seeing what everyone scores at TM. Not every scrapper here has too much stuff, so enjoy your scrappy purchases guilt-free! I just have too much stuff. Since it's all packed up temporarily for the remodel project, I'm watching videos. I also want to sort my pile of inspiration I've printed from various sites.

Great thread!! I love seeing the TJ Maxx and Tuesday Morning finds, I'm so glad I live nowhere near any of those stores. Online shopping is my "crack". I survived our MN road trip without buying anything so I have been officially frozen for 6 whole days now. When I got home I got to dig through last weekend's "hog fest" of goodies that I ordered last weekend and arrived while I was gone. That "high" will have to last me a loooooong time! I took a ton of photos to scrap so I will put those supplies to good use. How is everyone else doing? I love that people are setting their own goals! Good luck everyone!

Fun thread. I've been frosty for a long time. I have so much stuff I can't really justify buying more. I did get Valentine's Day paper this winter (I've been know to use Valentine's paper on Halloween and Easter layouts too haha) and spent $5 on second hand stuff this weekend. I really like the idea of setting a scrappy goal for myself for "earning" scrap purchases. I'll have to think on that.

I finished 2 layouts today. 27 more to go!!
Of course, I think I might be cheating. I was going through photos and pulled some professional photos of the nieces and nephews which are all about cute design and no story or deep meaning, which means they go together in a snap for my next 3 layouts. Of course, one nephew is 10 and it's his 4 year old picture, so it still needs to be scrapped....

Alas, I did not get any scrapping done this weekend. I did however, stay far, far away from a garage sale at one of my LSS's. That took some will power because I love searching for alpha die sets at those. I did buy the "Best Glue Ever" at a different LSS though but I had a full loyalty card so it only cost me a little over $1! So in my eyes I did well on the spending front at least.

Besides, knocking a few pages off the list helps get your scrap mojo going....once you're scrapping don't you want to keep scrapping??

Adhesive doesn't count IMHO!! Good job staying away from a scrappy yard sale....I'd have trouble with that mostly because we don't have a LSS anymore!

I'm hanging in! I resisted the temptation to buy washi at the Freckled Fawn sale!
I have a big photo organization project to tackle in order to make it easier to scrap so that's my other short-term scrappy goal (in addition to my frozen until I hit 50 pages commitment!)

I got a discount voucher to our local big box store and started trying to decide what I needed to buy. Then I remembered that I'm not meant to be buying anything yet. It's a good thing I've had a busy week otherwise that sucker would have been used and I'd have been petting my new supplies.

I resisted the Freckled Fawn washi too! And I LOVE washi, but I also have 50 rolls of it staring me in the face. I shredded my JoAnn's ad so I wouldn't be tempted to use the coupons for something I don't need. After digging through my supplies last night, I realized I will need white cardstock eventually but it can wait until I'm desparate. I will also run out of enamel dots but that will challenge me to use sequins, brads, etc. I got a page scrapped using nothing but extra Cameo cuts and some old paper scraps. I made some new cuts with scraps too and another page with about 15 3x4 PL cards. Treyaut was a big inspiration to me too! I printed out her post from 2peas- "Ten things I've learned so far from my freeze" and slid it under the glass on my desktop. I read it sometimes to remind me that more is not always better.

Doing well here. Been working so much no time for shopping. I didn't even click on the washi sale. I need none and did not want to be tempted.

ndmomrn ... Can you elaborate on the "ten things I've learned" post ? What spoke to you? And what keeps inspiring you? (Don't feel the need to copy Treyaut's post.)

Delta Dawn , I don't think Treyaut is here....ndmomrn referenced using one of Treyaut's posts for inspiration but I think it was a post from the old board. (
