I have lots of sheets of print and cut labels, but I would love to be able to change the color of them. I know I can go into Photoshop and change the color, then save it and open it in SS, but I'd rather just do it in SS. Anyone have a way?

Yep. There is the color fill tool. You can also fill things with patterns. I import digital scrapbook papers and fill things with that too.
You can color match, by using the eyedropper tool, if you are wanting to match something.

This is the basic color fill: Here is pattern fill: And here is color matching - you can just "paste" an image in and click on that to color match:

Thank you so much!! I feel like I've tried that before so I must be doing something wrong. I will try tomorrow with your screen shots. Thanks!

@mamaofdudes if you have trouble, let me know. Some files work differently. If you can share where you got the label file and I can look at it, I might be able to help you more.

You an also choose "advanced options", which is under the color chart in the above screen shots and you can choose even more shades/colors.

Thanks for the info! I, *blushing* haven't ever used that fill feature or printable stuff, but I own the files so we know that is what counts

Ok iowgirl, I still can't get it to work. It recolors the whole page, not the individual labels. I do not have the option to "ungroup" them, so I really don't know what else I could do. The files are from scraptastic. There are some free label files from Kaitlin Sheaffer that I am trying as well: www.kaitlinsheaffer.com/downloads/I have no clue how to screenshot my computer, so I can't show you what I mean, but the entire page is recoloring. UGH!!

I was a afraid of that.. They are an "image" (raster) file, not a cut (Vector) file. That is also why you can't ungroup them. You could probably change the hue in photoshop or something like that, but I don't think you are going to be able to do much with them in the Studio software.

I'll just have to find my photoshop cd and get tired installed on this computer. Thanks anyway!

I recently took an on-line class by Kerri Bradford and she showed a way that it is possible to change color on some png/jpg type files. You use the trace function and after you have successfully traced the outline you can remove the inner, colored part of the image and then add new color to the inside of the new cut line. I tried it on a very simple image and it worked well. I think she was also able to do it by increasing the threshold and then changing the color. The class is called Custom Made - she explains everything MUCH better than I can. I don't know whether this will work on all images, but worth a try.
