Meg, where did you get your coloured binders from? I need to sort my recipes out from the single binder they're in now. Judie I got them at Officeworks. They are a bit bigger than what I wanted, but they were the only size that came in all the colours I wanted!! (PS. Even though I got rid of a lot of magazines yesterday I kept one old magazine that I bought off you a gazillion years ago …. I can’t remember what it’s called, but it was a special edition and cost about $25 back then.) I tossed mine years ago and I miss the paper I sold off way more than I miss the magazines. Oh MAN, that really should be my next step, getting rid of paper. That would be very difficult. Mind you, I have a customer made paper holder built into the cabinets in my study so it really isn’t taking up too much room. I do, however, have a set of portable drawers that hold all the scraps of paper (any of the 12x12 that I’ve cut into) and I guess I could get rid of that. Perhaps if you view them as consumables, like coffee and cake which if we are honest we probably have all spent a small fortune on over the years then it might to easier to let them go. That’s a good way of looking at it. I did actually stop buying my daily coffee a couple of years ago. It was costing me $4 per day x 5 days a week x 48 weeks a year which was nearly $1000 a year.

I have purchased many paper pads. Many. I have decided to go through them this summer and keep only the papers from them that speak to me. That should get me some more room. I am the purging queen for most things and have gotten rid of packs, but not the actual unwanted sheets in the packs I like.

This is my thing, I still enjoy hands on magazines and find the link/blog searches not so much fun. That said, recycling is my main way to down size. In my experience, Goodwill volunteers visibly cringe when I haul in large stacks of magazines and libraries are never interested. Maybe it's me lol.
ETA: Whoops, where did my quote go?
ETA2: See, I hate technology gone wrong lol
I don't trust that things online will always be online, nor will they be available when I want them. That said, I spent many happy hours going through old sb mags, cutting out the layouts and quickly gluing them into composition books. What didn't make my books hit the trash. I Smashedbooked before it was cool.

Cut down your old paper that you don't want and use it to write notes on (instead of whatever happens to be lying around).

I just counted them...... I *only* have 148 scrapbook magazine left after the last big cull I did a few years ago. I have probably twice as many cooking magazines! No way am I getting rid of THOSE though. Girl, it's a sickness, toss them

You can do it. I threw away ALL. OF. THEM. Save those in which I was published. Even those I'm tempted to just tear out the pages where my LOs are featured.
I also, just yesterday, threw out my cooking magazines and internet printed recipes. I didn't even go through and cut out those that looked good. A foot gap on the shelf that I can now fill with other crap.
