I confess: I am all about "planning" right now. With the expensive planner, the washi, the stickers, the fancy pens, etc.
I want to pretend that it's going to help make me super organized… But I have a feeling it will just be a major time suck! I will probably spend more time decorating a little box that says "do laundry" then I actually will DOING the laundry. And really-- do I really need to remind myself to do the laundry? I think the huge pile of smelly clothing on my bedroom floor is a dead giveaway. But let's face it, it's more about the stickers and the washi and the pens than it is about the planning, right?
See--I love to papercraft. I just don't enjoy scrapbooking in the traditional sense anymore. I am single, I don't have kids, I don't do that many scrap-worthy things and I don't have anyone to hand piles and piles of scrapbooks down to.
I am currently taking the Creative Planner class from Christy Tomlinson. And then I went down the YouTube wormhole… and Etsy… And Instagram… And I just got my first Planner Society kit. It's super cute, BTW.
I will most likely stop all the decorating once my life gets busy again. But it will provide me with a little bit of fun for now – so I'm good with it.
So if you love to "plan"--and I use that term loosely – come on in and tell me about your planner, your favorite blogs, YouTube channels, people to follow on Instagram, supplies, etc. i'm trying really hard to turn this into a full-fledged obsession!

Well I tried it but taking 8 classes this final semseter at school, running a household, 3 kids at home...it fell by the way side. Now that things are less crazy I would liek to think I can get back to using at least a simple planner and that get all fancy with stash...but I need to start slow otherwise I'll just give up...

I use the Erin Condren Life Planners, but other than the printed event stickers and once in a while a little washi tape I really don't decorate my planner. Heck I don't even use colored pens, but rather pencil so I can erase and rewrite as the kids activities get cancelled and rescheduled, etc. I just watched a You Tube video where the woman sat down and completely decked out her weekly 2 page spread for the upcoming week and thought no way in heck would I be able to keep up with that for the year lol. I prefer clean and simple and done, but if all decked out is your thing then I hope you have a lot of fun with your new planner!

I have always preferred a paper planner, but I don't get super fancy. Mine is for practical use, not for fun. Although I love that the planning kick is around, because I now have colored ink pens that erase and so DD is pink, DS is blue, I am brown, School is orange, Family is purple, general is black, Business is green. I saw them on Kristina Werner's videos. She actually just came out new insert for her planner as well. Although I have a weekly already, I have been inserting an extra sheet that's smaller for menu, To Do's, etc. So I just developed my own insert after seeing Kristina's. Although I do really like the idea of the decorated ones for sort of a life journal, but we're too boring right now to have anything interesting to put into it. Enjoy your new planner!

I have been using an Erin Condren planner for years but I don't decorate like I have seen on the web. Man, if I did that, not only does it take time but I couldn't read my appointments or anything else on there. Some of the pages are SO busy that it would drive me nuts! But with that said, I use a very small bit of washi, stamping, stickers, and colored pens for every family member and pet. My pages have a LOT of white on them with a touch of color. That's what I prefer. Doesn't take time at all and it works for me. I guess that's why I have been doing it that way for years. Next year, however, I am switching to a Plum Planner.

I bought a smaller planner this Christmas. It was a cute gold and white one from maybe Heidi Swapp. I never use it. Gaw! My life is either crazy busy or absolutely nothing, I am through the busy two months and now am enjoying retirement until I figure out what I want to do.

My niece is totally addicted to planners and has a handful of them: Erin Condren, 2 Kate Spade... She belongs to a lot of the groups. Her planners are works of art. She fills them with so much detail that I consider them to be like scrapbooks and journals minus the photographs.
I think they're a great way to be creative in a smaller (but not less expensive) way.

Hi is a cheap planter from Walmart, washi tape and stickers. That works for me, I have fun with it, and it even looks pretty.

My planner is basically decorated with a journal card at the front, scrapbook paper cut to size for dividers, and a sheet of .99 cent stickers on the back to use to highlight birthdays etc. I set it all up last year and have only had to write down dates and times since!

I'm trying. I bought a filofax last fall but have done nothing with it. I've been using a basic paper spiral bound school planner instead...i feel so bad about that when I have a nice filofax sitting here.
Maybe making some cute dividers for it will inspire me to actually use it. I don't see myself hardcore decorating though. I need all the space to write in.

Does anyone know if the Simple Stories Life Documented or Heidi Swapp planner pages fit in an A5 filofax?

Does anyone know if the Simple Stories Life Documented or Heidi Swapp planner pages fit in an A5 filofax? Heidi Swapp definitely do not.... They are their own unique thing. I'm not 100% about Simple Stories, but my guess would be no. I bet they fit their little binders.

I tried to be a planner girl. Last year I bought an Erin Condren. That lasted about 2 months. Its just too big and thick. And honestly the color scheme in the inside was too kiddy for me. I prefer black and white, let me add my own color. Then the beginning of this year I Tried the midori route. Bought a black FoxyDori and a teal Chic Sparrow, bought and made inserts and other accessories. Hate it. I have to take the inserts out to be able to write comfortable. Pain in the ass. Contemplated a Filofax or the Heidi Swapp planner. Im back to my simple 5x8 metallic gold Sugar Paper LA planner. $14 at Target. Its just what works for me.

I couldn't find anything online but I know people have modified other sheets.

I really like the look of her inserts nice and simple and pre-printed. Doesn't look like she carries much for A5 though. I'm definitely bookmarking the site though.

I wanted to be and bought a couple of leather kikki k planners in different sizes. One I use day to day but the other is untouched. It was supposed to be for planning projects. I am cutting myself a little slack though because I am pregnant with all day sickness!

This is how I used planners before I did PL / P365. I used to add some details of our day to document. "Laundry" didn't make it in, but little stories of the day did. I used stamps a lot, little drawings, colored pens, and made lists of things we wanted to do and places to go and ideas to try. I love looking back at them now, but other forms of memory keeping have taken their place so I no longer do it.

I just received my new planner from Corie Clark Purposeful Planner. I really need to have everything in one place and I know this will help. I don't plan on heavily decorating but we'll see...

Katybee how are you doing with your new planner? I've broken my keep it simple rule and have bought some more washi and stickers from several etsy stores. Sheesh it's all "cute," but will I use it all? It's going to be a challenge for me since I really am a keep it simple girl.
