I always order Sangria's in Mexico. They sound so good right now. I have googled but am not finding one I think is close. Although I have never made them before. They had two layers. The bottom layer has lemon/lime soda, vodka, and something else (it was white on the bottom), the top half was red wine. Many recipes I find have fruit in it but not the ones they served there, but that does not matter. Anyways, I am going to come up with something today!! lol

I clearly don't know the right way, but a few summers ago I poured a bottle of decent white wine into a pitcher and threw in a handful of oranges and a lemon. It was delicious, sitting on my front porch on a sweltering day.

I have several good ones pinned on my Pinterest cocktail board: My PinterestJust a heads up--I use strawberries in a lot of my sangrias. They tend to fade after soaking in the alcohol. It's only noticeable in the white sangrias. They still taste fine. One of my favorite whites is the white strawberry lemon recipe and my favorite red is the Very Berry sangria recipe.

I went to a party where they used club soda, riesling and fresh oranges and orange juice, it was delicious! She said any citrus would work.

I've always just used red wine, lemonade (or lemon/lime), orangeade, ice and whatever fruit I had lying around. Never knew vodka should go in it. Then again if I did that the kids wouldn't be able to have a glass (in my version it's about a third each of the liquids).

I made this for a bridal shower recently.. everyone loved it.
NGREDIENTS 4 cups diced assorted fresh fruit (such as strawberries, peaches, and grapes) 2 small oranges, thinly sliced, seeded 1/2 cup brandy 1/2 cup peach liqueur 1/2 cup white grape juice 4 small fresh mint sprigs 2 750-ml bottles chilled cava or other sparkling white wine

I haven't tried this copycat recipe yet, but if it's anything like the real thing, it's crazy good!
Carrabba's Red Sangria
2 1/2 cups Monin red sangria mix 9 oz. Korbel brandy 4 1/2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon splash of Grenadine 2 bottles (1.5 liters each) Scarlatto red wine Ice
ETA: oh, you can use orange, lemon, and lime slices for garnish...

It's soooooo yummy, but you have have to be careful because it packs a punch!

I like a traditional Spanish sangria. I haven't made it myself, but my SIL makes a fabulous version. Here is a similar recipe. Emeril Lagasse Sangria

I usually make the Whole Foods recipe. It's super easy, and everyone always seems to enjoy it. Sangria RecipeIngredients: 1 (750-ml) bottle red wine 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice 1/4 cup orange liqueur, such as triple sec (optional) 1/4 cup sugar 1 small orange, thinly sliced 1 small lemon, thinly sliced 1 peach, pitted, peeled, and diced 1 cup lemon soda, chilled In a large pitcher, combine wine, orange juice, orange liqueur and sugar; stir to dissolve sugar. Stir in fruits and refrigerate until chilled and the flavors have blended, 2 to 8 hours. Just before serving, gently stir in soda; serve sangria over ice.

I made a Pineapple Sangria recently that was good.
750 ml Riesling or Moscato wine 15 oz. can pineapple in juice (not syrup) 1 large orange, sliced into circles 2 limes, sliced into circles ½ c. coconut rum seltzer or club soda, optional Instructions: Stir together all ingredients except seltzer in a large glass pitcher. Cover and store in refrigerator for at least three hours before serving. Serve over ice, with a splash of seltzer if desired.

Wow, I am going to have to be creative and plan for making more recipes. Thanks for all of the suggestions. This is what I came up with: 1 shot vodka 1/2 shot orange liqueur sprite (until 3/4 full) red wine on top (I also thru in some pineapple and strawberries that I had cut up in the fridge) It was great for a quick drink and I think I came pretty close but when I go back to Mexico I am going to tip the guy well and figure out what he does

Made a great peach sangria yesterday:
one bottle dry white wine simple syrup - 1/2 cup water and 1/4 cup sugar dissolved over heat and cooled 3/4 cup peach schnapps 2 peaches sliced
served cold with a little ginger ale to cut it and add some fizz
delish!!
