I know my question is crazy broad but any generalized advice? My DD and her boyfriend are there today. They bought a 2 day park hopper (or whatever it is called) and wants me and SO to meet them there tomorrow
Her advice was to buy ticket online and get there early. Thanks!

If you are there primarily for the Harry Potter area, get there when the park opens and RUN straight to the back of the park where it is located. If you go directly there, you might be able to get through the rides a couple of times before the mass of people show up. Also, if you are willing to go through as a single rider, you might also be able to get through lines fairly quickly as some rides have separate lines for single riders. If you want to stick together as a group of four, you'll be standing in the lines from hell.
Other general info: wear sneakers/lace-up shoes or you'll be leaving your shoes on the ground in some rides. It's HOT, HOT, HOT this time of year. Make sure that you go to some of the covered shows to get a break and, if you're lucky, a breeze. Don't carry anything that won't fit easily into a small locker. Many of the rides require you to store all purses, backpacks, hats, bags . . . in free lockers before you get in line.

We used the single rider lines and were able to ride so much more. Also - get a frozen butter beer - so good.

Here is my practical advise for the day: It has rained every flipping day since June. Be prepared for the rain, possibly thunderstorms. We have awfully strong thunderstorms, lots of lightening and thunder. Have some kind of rain gear. BUT, because it is Florida, the sun will shine before it rains and possibly afterwards, so have sunscreen too. It isn't quite as hot as it could be, but in the parks it will still definitely feel miserably hot, so make sure that you are wearing clothes that are lightweight and breathable-bonus points if they dry quickly. I would consider a hat too. This summer has been different for some reason. Instead of just afternoon rains, we seem to be having a lot of fairly strong storms coming through every day-just something to consider. That's it. That's all I've got. signed, an irritated florida girl who really is getting tired of the rain

We were there a few years ago... and everything I read.. everyone I talked to said run to Harry Potter so you don't have to wait in line.
Clearly everyone else read the same thing. We waited over 2 hours in the August sun to spend 7 minutes in Oelanders wand shop( talk about WTH???) what a waste of time.
Second day we went... we did the opposite we did all the fun things we missed the day before and wandered back to the Harry Potter stuff a couple of hours before the park closed. NOT a line! We got on the castle ride.. in 10 minutes!
SO my advice is do everything else you want to do.. then go to the Harry Potter stuff.

Thanks for the advice so far. I'm up for the single rider line; not a big deal to me.
Anxiousmom-I get what you are saying about the weather. I have been here a few days visiting my Mom and holy cow it is not what I expected. A house in her community was hit by lightening yesterday and the garage was destroyed. I expected it to be a lot hotter. But I'm sure it will feel miserable at Universal.
