I don't want the adhesive to show through, hopefully someone has been expertly adhering vellum and can help me out!

There is vellum tape available and it doesn't show very much unless you are looking for it. I always end up attaching it with normal tape and then put an embellishment over it to hide it.

I've run vellum through the Xyron successfully for no-show adhering.

I like the tape runner from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L that is purple called the EZ Runner for Vellum. It works really, really well and is nearly invisible depending on the vellum used. I love all of the 4 different versions of their tape runners. I order mine online. They used to make the tape runners for Creative Memories.

I haven't had luck with vellum tape. I've found when I look at old layouts, it has yellowed underneath.

I almost always staple mine with my Tiny attacher, or as someone said above hide the adhesive under and embellishment or layer. Sewing works well too.

I just left Hobby Lobby after reading this. I am working on a really special layout tomorrow with vellum and have been trying to figure out what to use for adhesive. I've never really been happy with anything I've used in the past. I will say for other readers interested it is very hard to see the word vellum on this adhesive. I actually put it back thinking I wasn't the right thing. I saw no mention of vellum on the packaging. I went back after walking around the store to look one more time. There it was in tiny letters on the tape runner, the word vellum. Yea!!!! Thank you again. I can't wait to try it tomorrow.

I'm so happy I could help. Yes, you are right-the word "vellum" is written very small under the letters E-Z (I didn't really notice it until you pointed it out). I hope that mentioning that the tape runner was purple that it helped you to find it. I also hope that it works out for you. Please post and let us know how you like it. I've used many different types of adhesives for vellum through the years and this one I've found works really well for me. I hope you have the same results.

I would only use adhesive if I were adding an embellishment on top.
Like using atg and layering the piece with other embellishments / tags / pp/cs to hide it. Or using a glue dot and adding a flower, gem, enamel dot, or button on top of it to hide it.
Or more than likely I don't use any adhesive at all. I secure the vellum with: brads, eyelets, staples, buttons, a punched hope with twine or ribbon, a just a few stitches.... just about anything!

Ok, I used the EZ Runner for vellum and it worked beautifully! It really doesn't show thru.
And yes letting us know it was purple definitely helped me find it. Thank you again.

Fantastic! I'm so happy it worked so well for you. I must admit it's been a long while since I used mine (like 2 years-hanging head in shame ), so I was hoping I was remembering correctly. I'm thrilled it worked so well for you. BTW, this company "Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L" makes 3 other tape runners-a red one that has white permanent tiny slivers of tape (those are great for tiny things like letters), a pink tape runner that has white permanent squares, and a light green tape runner that has repositionable dots of adhesive. I found them about 2 years ago, and have been really happy with their quality and ease of use. I usually order mine through scrapbook.com, but you might find them cheaper somewhere else. I like that site because they carry all 4. Debbie in MD.

I got the EZ vellum tape and it does work. I also found in my stash a Wacky Tac roll of tape. I forgot I had it. It does not show through at all. Unfortunately they don't make it anymore. It's also not permanent. I put a strip of that on the back, and then I used photo corners to secure it. Thanks for all the ideas of alternate methods!

I'm so happy about this adhesive. I have been using vellum in my Silhouette. Yesterday I cut feathers and lightly painted the edges with gold. I put them on white cardstock and they really look like they are painted on the page. Beautiful thanks to the adhesive.
