Do you think it would work with the papers from a kit? Have you done this method with a kit? There's probably not as many papers as a full collection (unless you purchase the add-ons? maybe?). I have several kits that I need to use and am considering doing this. I wanted to see if anybody else had.

I haven't done it with a kit, but I am sure you could make a few layouts from a kit easily using her methods.

Nope. This is an interesting thought though. As long as you had 12 sheets of paper that went together I would think it would work.

I think it just depends on how many sheets of paper came in the kit. If you got enough paper (or added a few sheets that coordinated from your stash) I think it could absolutely work.

I've tried it with kits I've created from my stash for the counterfeit kit challenge blog.

I do think it would still be helpful with a kit, but I also agree with the others that adding cardstock or other coordinating papers will help you get more out of it and stretch the ideas she presents. It was one of my favorite classes ever. She has a new one called Return to the Collection that revisits and builds off the Perfect Collection class that she posted on her blog the other day.

I have not done it since I don't get actual kits, just PL ones, but I'm sure it'd work. As long as the papers coordinate in a way that you like, where you can use a little *or* a lot of every single paper, then it'd work just fine. If there are papers in there that only work in small doses it might be harder to follow her method of cutting things and combining them.

I do this all the time with kits I make from my own stash. The big takeaway from the class, for me, was that there if you layer squares and rectangles of patterned papers that mix together, the sky's the limit of what you can create.

You can definitely do this, and you will get so many good ideas from that class on how to use/cut-up paper.
