We are having dd's graduation party this Saturday and it's forecast to rain all day and only be in the high 60s. My house is small and I don't know where I'm going to put 50 people. Dd and her friends can hang out in the garage but every one else? Who knows? We'll be packed in tight! I have a large canopy for the yard but I have a feeling people won't want to be outside at all. Praying the weather reports are all wrong. Praying for sun and 75! Just venting so I don't start hyperventilating

I'll cross fingers for you if you'll do the same for me mid July when we are having a joint 21st birthday/25th wedding anniversary party.
Good luck!

The weather is the one thing you can never control. I hope it stays dry and warm for you.
This sounds petty but we are having my Mom's birthday on Sunday, and it is going to be a hot one, 33+C which is about 96F+. We can't win either way can we?

Will do, gar2! Glorjoy, you are right, we can't control it. I need to stop fretting about it.

Well, it rained. No, it poured. All. Day. It was the best party we have ever had. Dd made a good observation when she said if the weather was nice, everyone would have hung out in their little groups (her friends, family, our friends, etc.) and not mingled but because it was inside, people had to move around to eat or get a drink so there was naturally more mingling. Our best party yet. All that worry for nothing.

That's great! We just had DS's'so party two weeks ago. It was 95 with about 80% humidity. No one went outside to our freshly cleaned and stained deck. I was grateful that it didn't rain, as we only had 3 tickets to graduation if it was indoors.

We had a graduation party to attend this weekend and it poured all weekend here. And it was an outdoor venue. There was a large tent and people still came. We sat around and talked. They played music. We ate. You know, everyone made do. It was in the low 60s, which while cool for summer, wasn't cold.
So I think with some extra covered seating outdoors you'll be fine. I am sorry, though, about the weather, because I know it's a disappointment when that happens.

I updated above that it all worked out much better than expected.

We had rain most of the day so everyone hung out in different areas of the house and the garage. It was still fun.

I understand! The weather has been terrible this month. It's only 62 today and should be in the 80s. And it has rained almost every day this month.
That is one of the reasons we are not having a graduation/18th birthday party for my daughter. We don't have a big house, and no way we can fit everyone inside. And we would have it outside if we lived in an area that doesn't get a lot of rain. But we live in an area that gets a lot of rain, so we decided to have her get a group of kids together and one day when it doesn't rain, and we would pay for them to spend the day at the local amusement park.
I hope your party went well and you didn't get the rain!

Everyone needs to have their state posted in their avatar. I want to know who/where is having 62 degree weather.

Meant to be. Tighter quarters made everyone closer in more ways than one. Rain brought a rainbow!

Awesome update. Sometimes the things that seem like the worst thing to happen are actually the best. My parents' 50th wedding anniversary party was last weekend. They had reserved the gym at their church for the day. Three days before the party they got word they had been bumped for a funeral. (Standard practice. Funerals are considered an important religious service and anything can be bumped for one.) My mom freaked at first, but once we got a plan in place it all worked out. We moved it to their backyard and my mom was ecstatic that the party got to be there. Of course we had lovely weather in the low 80s with a nice breeze and a shady yard.
