... when they take naked photos of themselves on their phones and send them to others? Do people not realize the Cloud exists and your photo is going to be up there forever? You hear about teenagers doing this type of thing and you can write that off to immaturity. But I know a lot of grown-ass adults who do this (people in their 30's and 40's) and have no qualms. I guess I don't get it! I seriously think some adults are worse than kids!

I don't get it either. I know for certain that there are no incriminating pics of me floating around in cyber space or even on film from back in the day. Dumb, dumb, dumb. The best that might be on my phone were when I took a photo of jeans I was trying on, fully dressed, when I was trying to see the rear view. I didn't send them out anywhere and deleted form my phone but who knows if those particles could be floating but it is ok, the jeans looked decent haha.

well, I've done it. DH and I like to sometimes spice things up by sending each other dirty pics. sometimes of a "this is what I'm doing, do you wish you were here?" variety, sometimes just "hey, here's some boobs to brighten your day!". faces aren't shown in them, but I have enough tattoos I could probably be identified. don't care. if they ever come out, I'd be embarrassed, but I'd also stand by them and my reasons.
ETA: husband works 3rd shift, usually 6 nights a week. When you're only sleeping in the same bed 1 night a week, it's helpful to have something to keep things alive. This isn't the only thing we do, but it's included. |

A girl here at work admitted to me yesterday that she has pictures of her X. They are both in their 50's. and she used them against him with his present girlfriend. These were full frontal shots, head to toe... asked me if I wanted to see, I declined and just looked at her like she had 3 heads. I don't understand it either.. He wasn't all that attractive dressed. I don't care to have nightmares, thank you very much!

I just want to point out, and it tends to get lost in these 'what were they thinking' discussions, that there is nothing wrong with taking nude photos. Nothing. The people who distribute these photos without permission, however, are lower than dirt.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, and the idea that it's not wise stuns me... Is it also not wise to wear skirts in case some pervert take an upskirt photo? Or not go to the washroom in a public place in case someone's hidden a camera in there? What about change rooms? Your toddler takes a selfie at bath time or while running around naked in the backyard sprinkler - if that photo gets hacked/stolen, should the child have known better? The parent/owner of the phone? Pet peeve of mine how twisted discussions about who's actually in the wrong in situations like this... You can take and send pictures of yourself AND there is no reason to feel like you're somehow complicit if someone hacks/steals/misuses that photo... Maybe it's a generational thing? The idea that 'good girls' don't put themselves into certain situations... But how is that equality? Equality means that woman have control over what happens to their bodies/themselves... The crime is committed by whoever shares/steals the photo and their the ones that should have limits (charges, fines, etc), put on them - not the people taking the pictures... Never going to fix the problem unless you take action against the true crime that's being committed... Shaming the picture takers just delays the remedy by distraction... If people found looking at stolen images appalling, there would be little interest in hack/stealing them in the first place... I'm with the celebrities (can't remember which one - J Law maybe), that said looking at her private nude photos was a sex crime... You can peep in her windows, so don't peep at her photos... |

Meh, I don't see the big deal if two consenting adults want to spice things up with some dirty pics. You run the risk of them being out there forever but obviously that's a chance they are willing to take. Rock on if that's your thing.

I HATE them, I am 48 and although I might not look like it, my boobs sure do. But, hey, whatever works, and that's a pretty easy one. I couldn't care less if someday someone discovers them in 'the cloud.' Can other people see my cloud anyway? Not sure how all that works. But if they eventually do, well, the pictures they find there will look better than they do in real life anyway. My body is not getting any better with age. LOL. Now, I would not like to become a meme, for sure. But how likely is that to happen? I think the good outweighs the potential bad. And seriously, it is a naked body. Why is that so shameful? |

Eh. I don't see the big deal. I sometimes send shots like that to my husband when he's working a 24 hour shift. (Not full-nudity or anything but boob or partial ass shots. What can I say. He's a boob/ass man). He has his phone fingerprint & passcode locked so co-workers cannot read the texts. We also do not use iCloud so they don't get stored on our phones or transfer to our computers. If someone were to see them, like an above poster said, I'd explain them away but it wouldn't be the end of my life or anything. No big deal. |
