So I have to start by saying I do not like Memento ink, never have, it doesn't stamp crisp or clean in my opinion and the black isn't black enough for me. So I bought the new My Favorite Things Hybrid black ink and it's marketed as being able to use them with copics so I tried it and it's great! The black is very black and it is crisp and clean, not as nice as versafine onyx or archival ink but it's MUCH better than memento! So if you are looking for a new ink to use with copics, I highly recommend this ink pad! Here's a photo of it. UPDATED PHOTO:

Thanks thekatsmeow. I will keep that in mind if I do decide to go alcohol ink.
Question - is it sold by My Favorite Things only?

I also do not get a crisp image with memento. I thought I just wasn't doing it right. Good to know. Thank you.

I never have been able to get a good image no matter what paper I use. I have been scouting for old supplies of Palette Black & Grey because they don't smear when used with colored pencils & OMS.

Thanks so much for the tip. I don't like Memento Tuxedo Black either. The only time I use it is with copics and my go-to black is Versafine Onyx Black. Wonder if Simon Says carries it?

Here I was, re-inking, over and over. I was blaming it on a dry pad. I never seem to see the people on YouTube having the same trouble with Memento as I do. I'll keep an eye out for this one, and put it on my never ending wish list.

I've wanted this ink too, and was VERY EXCITED when SSS had these inks up for sale...in all colours...EXCEPT BLACK! D'oh! I don't want to order direct from MFT because of the shipping cost to Canada. Will hold out a bit longer. I noticed M's had the Memento luxe inks now (I got the white and I loved it) so I'll cross my fingers the hybrid inks show up there someday. I'm another person who prefers the versafine (better detail, smoother) unless I'm using my copics.

That is good to know. I'm using memento at the moment but will think about MFT soon. Thanks.

Ack, I just bought a black momento pad. It sounds like it may have been a bad purchase.

The photo I posted is the wrong one. It's actually the "Hybrid" black ink here's the correct photo:

I'm in the same boat with postage costs.

I purchased the Black Licorice, Chocolate Brown, Steel Gray and Kraft in the hybrids. Wasn't exactly "thrilled" with the coverage on solid stamps, but it's great for coloring image stamps. Just a word of caution though... Steel Gray is SO similar to Black Licorice I can barely tell the difference. Wish I would have known that...could have saved me the cost of an additional ink pad.

They aren't great for solid images but are much better than memento for stamped images

They aren't great for solid images but are much better than memento for stamped images Sounds like they're worth trying. I'd just the black for outline images.
