I got an email today that Ali Edwards is offering her 31 Things and Yesterday & Today workshops as self-paced classes. Both look really interesting and I have time right now to do one or possibly both projects, depending on how detailed I get (and if I stay motivated!). Has anyone taken one or both of these? I know it's Ali, so I probably can't go wrong, but I'd like some feedback if anybody can give more details.

If you like her then you will like the classes. I've taken both but its been a while. I'm thinking 31 things might be a little dated as so many do that type of scrapbooking now. I didn't finish the Yesterday & today workshop because I'm not much of a video watcher and I just don't care for her videos/voice but that is totally based on my likes nothing she did wrong at all!

Thanks for the info. It looks like she has a new version of 31 Things coming out this fall...I'm terrible about including myself or things from my perspective in my journaling, so I guess I was thinking something along the lines of this class might help since as I understand it, there are so many journaling prompts. Then again, you're right that if I poked around on blogs and Pinterest long enough, I could probably find ideas also.

I'll start by saying I took Yesterday & Today in 2009, so my comments should probably be taken with a grain of salt.
I think there are things in the class that are no longer as fresh and innovative as they were (eg day in the life, using divided page protectors) which may detract from the overall sense of value in the class. That said I have actually just started redoing this class as I think there are still things I will find valuable.
I know I'm not particularly good at telling stories of connections, instead I tend to focus on event and fact based stories. This class got me telling some of those compare and contrast type stories. This class also opened my eyes to the idea that while not every story is worth a full 12x12 page it doesn't mean it should be left out of my albums.
Some of my favourite layouts have come out of this class and I still see them regularly because although I moved some of them into their definite homes, some of them still live in the album we created in class which now also holds my blank page protectors.
I will also say I remember thinking after Week 1 that I had wasted my time and money on this class but it got significantly better and was well worth it in the end.
