I love it.
I knew who was opposed before the ruling came down, so no surprises there

Unfortunately, no. One person is being particularly obnoxious. I tend to ignore her religious posts. But, yesterday's were over the top.
I don't have a lot of FB 'friends.' 40 maybe, and a couple of them are my sister's dogs. LOL! There are 3 people that have posted positively regards the ruling.

Very doubtful. I know of a handful of facebook friends that will be celebrating. I grew up in a very conservative religion. I deactivated my account for a few days.

The one person who is the most anti- on my fb feed has been divorced twice and currently lives with her significant other, definitely having premarital sex. Her son father a child out of wedlock in his teens...and yet Gay Marriage is what is ruining the family structure and taking us to hell in a hand basket.

Yup, mine is full of rainbows. Love all my international friends joining in too. The few friends that I know have differing opinions are pretty silent. But I am seeing a lot more general "Christian" type posts. But nothing hateful. Probably because I got rid of all the haters after the 2012 election.

My FB is very colourful at the moment, and I live in Europe. I have people I am close to who are very active in the Transgender community, quite a few gay/lesbian/bi friends, and most of my heterosexual friends (like I am) are politically liberal/socialist. So Rainbows all arboud Besides, we have had marriage equality for years already, so it's what we are used to. It seems strange to us to discriminate like that now. And I'll tell you a secret, and I will even allow you to tell this secret to your friends who were opposed to this ruling: My country have allowed homosexual marriages for YEARS now, and WE HAVE NOT gone under! We are still intact, and still thriving as a community.

i live in toronto and it's pride week here, as OP mentioned. my fb feed gets VERY rainbow-y at this time of the year, every year! all my FB friends know my stance so i have not seen anything negative at all. mind you, i do not have any super-religious friends or family either. most of my religious friends are more private about their faith. i have one second cousin who might have commented negatively but he unfriended all extended family when it came out his wife left him when he was caught cheating with a 22 year old. i think the ruling is awesome and am sure the pride celebrations have an extra-special feeling to them with more to celebrate. in addition, we now have a mayor who is not a boob and will actually attend the festivities, after the cringe-worthy "rob ford years". i used to go to the parade every year, even bringing my kids when they were babies in strollers. now that they are NOT in strollers, we are too busy with their activities to attend but i am there in spirit!

The whole Robertson/Duck douche was her first strike. Not sure I'm willing to give her a third. It's not the viewpoint. I don't have to agree with someone to show kindness or be understanding. Instead, it's the delivery. But, I know her church's views are conservative to the extreme. Dh's aunt has been denied psychological care and meds, at her daughter's wishes, because their church (same one as the FB friend) doesn't believe in that kind of care.

Thanks for all the responses! I normally will like posts on a thread I've started but hesitate for those that say they've seen negative things on their FB feed...I don't want it to be misconstrued that I'm supporting the hate! So, here is my thanks for responding! Thanks! Spread the love!

The first rainbow to show up on my Facebook was my BFF's mum who has been married to her long-time partner for 10 years. Shortly after, my Facebook feed exploded with rainbows! So fitting as it pride week in most of our major Canadian cities.

For the most part my FB feed has been a really happy place over the last day and a half. There are a handful of people who keep posting religious stuff which kind of makes me chuckle because they're all different Christian denominations so none of them have the same doctrines to begin with AND apparently the mainline protestant denominations which are okay with gay marriage don't count as real Christians anymore. It's all very confusing. I've been surprised by some friends who did make their profiles rainbow. I think most of those who are opposed are just keeping quiet or posting non-related innocuous things.

I have a friend on FB and I use the term 'friend' loosely, post this on her wall. This is not the first type of antigay sentiment she's posted. Yes everyone has their right to their opinion, freedom of speech and all that, however this post just got on my last nerve. So I responded. AND SHE DELETED IT! Fortunately I took a screen shot before she did. Even though the link she put on her wall is mild, she's done far, far worse and since yesterday was such a happy day for me, I had to respond. She apparently was not in agreement to my post and now poof it's gone, however the link to the story is still there. Since it's just an attachment, you'll have to click on it to read.

I have not had a single positive post come up on my facebook. I must live in the most conservative corner of the world!!! While taking my kids (young adults) out to lunch yesterday, we were talking about it and I was telling them how this would go down in history and they would always remember this day..... just then, we passed a store with "Shame on you supreme court!" spray painted on a gigantic piece of wood. I was in shock. Later when my DH came home from work he went on and on about how someone was explaining just how this was going to be the beginning of the end of America for going against God. I am sorry. I'll come post on your wall if you want. I have a cross section, most of the naysayers on my feed have been quiet. I am a teacher with very liberal friends, quite a few who are gay who lives in a small conservative town. I think there are only two or three of my fb in my physical area who are happy with yesterday's decision, but 90% of the rest are.

Yes, lost of rainbows! One FB "friend" posted something on her own page about how "the sinners won". I caught it and straight-up blocked her from ever being my friend or seeing what I post publicly again. I can stand a differing opinion. I will not tolerate hate.

Yep! SO full of rainbows! And then there is my cousin who posted a video put out by Focus of the Family.....I just scrolled past that one! There was a lingerie store in Colorado Springs (home of Focus) when I lived there called "Focus on the Fanny." I always think of that when I see FoF mentioned in the news. A bunch of my cousins, who I wasn't sure where they stood, have all rainbowed their profile pics. Quite happy here!

Lots of rainbows. Lots of people posting against the decision, but in a respectful way. My group of friends is very diverse, and I'm happy I didn't feel the need to "unfriend" anyone for ugliness.

I'm really enjoying the Celebrate Pride filter...I love seeing my Facebook friends' photos with the rainbow filter and love seeing how many people are Celebrating Pride weekend here in Toronto as well as the US Supreme Court ruling! (if you don't know what I'm talking about, just put Celebrate Pride in the Facebook search window!) My face book is a war zone. My brother (anti) and his daughter (for) are no longer "speaking" but are posting passive aggressive messages aimed at one another and announcing their intentions to utilize block. I believe a good portion of my sister's messages are similarly aimed at my mom, who hasn't really posted her opinion beyond a few likes. ("I kissed a girl, are you going to disown me as your daughter?". My sister is married and straight, this was posted simply to upset my mom who believes differently. An aunt and a few of my cousin's are going head to head. Cousin's are fighting. Frankly I am disgusted with the whole lot, no matter which side they fall.
