I have not put any effort into planning and realized today I have 30 people coming over on Saturday. I am in the midst of a crazy work project and I just can't plan a menu. At least I have Friday off to prepare - so please give me all your dish ideas!

My sister is having a get together on Friday so I'm thinking about making a quinoa salad.

It's just going to be DH and I and another couple so I'm not cooking for a crowd. We're having spiced grilled shrimp w/lemon aioli, grilled three-cheese potatoes, broccoli salad, and honey-rum grilled pineapple, along with a white wine sangria.

We're not going to make a big deal out of it this year because we want to take it easy and then go watch fireworks. Probably slow-smoke some pork ribs, fix some cucumber salad and potato or pasta salad, and pick up a watermelon for dessert.

Hamburgers, hot dogs and ice cream. Guests bring a side dish to share. We usually have potato salad, macaroni salad, Santa Fe style quinoa salad, deviled eggs, some variety of pasta salad, chips, veggies, and dip.

We have reservations! Dh's birthday is July 1 and my BIL's is July5 so last year we started a tradition of celebrating their birthdays together. There's a great restaurant that we all love so we have reservations there

I don't have any plans. The Fourth of July is one of those holidays that single people usually don't get any invitations for. I'll probably just grill a steak or something easy.

I am going to make stuffed burgers (think Juicy Lucy style... I got a tool from Bed Bath and Beyond to make them with, since when I tried to make Juicy Lucy burgers previously, I end up with the cheese leaking out everywhere), hot dogs, potato salad, antipasto salad, taco salad and apple pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert.

We cook out with the neighbors every year. I'm thinking of doing something a little different than the usual, so possibly chicken souvlaki with pita and tzatziki. Haven't gotten beyond that yet, although we always have some form of sangria.

We are having a pretty big party. We will be having lots of meat of some kind (the guys are taking care of that). We will also be having guacamole, texas caviar, egg salad, asian coleslaw, and can't forget the Jello shots!

We will also be having guacamole, texas caviar, egg salad, asian coleslaw, and can't forget the Jello shots! Anything with Jello Shots is a good thing. We're having a few people over and smoking a pork shoulder for some pulled pork and defrosting one of our hams for sandwiches (we bought a hog last October), macaroni, potato salads, and fruit salads. And a beautiful White chocolate lasagna that I found on Pinterest. It looks heavenly. Can't wait for that. For drinking, sweet tea vodka and lemonade, my summer favorite. Oh, and an array of jello shots.

Dh's famous ribs. We get them from Costco but then there's a family secret then so far coleslaw. The rest is still in the works. We aren't sure who's still coming. We just got back from family reunion.

I don't have any plans. The Fourth of July is one of those holidays that single people usually don't get any invitations for. I'll probably just grill a steak or something easy. Aw, that makes me sad. And I'd LOVE for you to come hang out here. Wish you were a bit closer. We have no plans so we'll just be hanging around the house...probably cleaning in the basement. We're getting ready for a big transition - my 10yo twins are getting their own bedrooms and 12yo ds is moving to the basement bedroom. So we've been doing some major purging and moving stuff around.
