Never used power tools.
They conducted a dry run before they actually left. They did this the night before they actually took off.
Sweat was suspended above the officers at some point. He was watching what they were doing.
Sweat is certainly sharing!

This will make an excellent movie. I would imagine everyone who worked in the jail hoped they would both be killed. No one to tell on them.
Was the one who was killed the one with the allegedly "large penis?"

12(?) people on leave at that facility and it's not the only one I'm sure with issues. Prisoners have gotten lots of rights in NYS....

No surprise that the warden, his assistant and 10 others are "suspended."
...going out of cells at night to cook on the catwalks, ref. in cells--sounds more like dorm life than a high security prison.
I have a feeling that in the next months it will run like a prison should.

When I first heard about the escape, several people on air mentioned it. I thought it was really odd to mention other than it might have held a "big" reason how they escaped. Clearly it did.

Apparently Sweat can use all this information he is giving as a bargaining tool to knock off time he will spend in solitary confinement.
Someone mentioned above that the prison seemed more like a dorm than prison. I just don't understand why they were allowed to live with so many luxuries. I mean, Matt tortured, killed, and dismembered a man - there should be NO special treatment for someone like that! Plus, a coworker told me that Matt had escaped from another prison before? Yet they put him in an honor block?

I find this equally fascinating /baffling.
I can understand why prisoners serving life sentences would try to escape...they have nothing to lose, I'm sure in their logic they think they'll either get away and have a great life, or get caught and they'll still be no worse off than they were before.
However the people who helped them? What the heck is their motivation? they have now ruined their careers and their lives and will probably spend time in prison themselves...for what? Two losers who didn't give a crap about them. SURELY they can't be that dumb that they didn't think there would be a massive investigation and they'd eventually get caught? That woman has now been completely humiliated, everyone knows she was bonking a murderer in the supply cupboard and talked about killing her husband...imagine what her family are thinking about her now? Why would she give up everything for some guy who is either going to get caught and spend his life inside or be killed? There doesn't even seem to have been anything in it for her (except maybe from the sex with the big penis...but that's definitely not worth torpedo-ing your life over) I can't even imagine what was going on in her head...that it seemed like a good idea to screw a convicted killer and help him escape...how could she not think "this isn't going to end well for me".

This is precisely where I am too. Kind of along the same line of people who marry prisoners who are in for life. WHY?!?!

I heard a small sentence in a news story that the feds were investigating a cocaine/herion smuggling situation in that prison. I think a bigger story will come from all this.

Do you think Sweat will embellish his story? The other prison guard that they picked up who was taking the meat from the woman......Sweat didn't implicate him and the guy passed a lie detector test. Did they release him or maybe he wasn't put in jail?

Small town, prison is main employer in town. The interview with the husband ... he didn't come across very well.
They obviously played the wife, and I think her car was all they wanted. I do think she would have been killed.
Sweat has nothing to lose by talking. And he can make up any story at this point. He will get perks, maybe he will be a "hero" wherever he lands next.
Weird how new info comes out each day.
I hope LE can determine if he was in a tree stand somewhere, because he could have picked off those officers (shudder). And I hope the owners of cabins and homes up there do go check theirs, because it's not out of the realm of possibility that there are victims somewhere.

LE requested that if anyone either have a cabin up where these guys were or know of someone who would be up there to contact them. They too are concerned that there are other victims.

I wonder if it was just the attention she was getting from them? I'm sure they played her like a violin, made her feel desirable...

I read somewhere that the plan was to kill her husband then go to mexico and live happily ever after. WTF was she thinking? why would she even think they would make it over the border? they would know within a few hours that she helped them and would have been looking for her car at all borders. what did she think they were going to live on? air? where would they live? how would they live with no money, no job and no ID?
sounds like she was living in lala land and in a lot of ways, she must be INCREDIBLY immature-usually children come up with half assed scenarios like this, not adults!
these inmates spent so much time planning the escape yet really didnt think through the actual nuts and bolts of living on the outside. makes you scratch your head, all right
