Wood veneers. The plain ones don't do anything for me; maybe if they were painted or something.

Washi tape just doesn't work for me most of the time. I have 5-10 rolls, but I rarely use it. I much prefer a punched border or ribbon. I have to say that the ripped edge look of Washi drives me batty. Cutting it also looks weird.

All of the above, with the exception of chevrons. And I have been known to use certain papers with flowers on them for a boy page.

For the most part, everything has a place. I actually have a silly family where photos on a couple of occasions call for mustaches. But I wouldn't use them like my go to heart, star, labels either. That said I have to agree with pennyI don't get journaling right on busy background paper... I have seen layouts where it works - Shimelle does it, Irit does, and I love their work... But I can't get into it... When I've tried it, words disappear into the background and it looks like an afterthought... and with ElsabelleA tiny picture with an enormous amount of white space around it.

I don't mind most trends. If I don't like it, I don't use it. With that being said, the mustaches are horrible and I HATE THEM. Lol

Mustaches and pineapples and planners Especially the pineapples! My my 12 dd loves them and has a few clothing with them on it, and even matching necklace and earrings...so I guess I need to use them on a layout with a pic of her wearing this outfit huh? Oh , now I LOVE pineapples! I haven't used them much yet but am hoping to finish my Hawaii and Fiji some time soon. I also bought some pineapple homeware - containers, letter holder, lamps and my bed linen and lots of stationery, so maybe I can scrapbook a page on my latest obsession. Just remembered also bought a cute dress with little pineapples all over it to wear next summer. Maybe with my pineapple earrings.

I only incorporate chevrons, which I used - along with other classic patterns - before they were "in!"

Mustache trend coincided with my oldest son shaving and getting some fashion sense. Well, sporadically shaving. So it was kinda cute for pics with his hair growing buddies.
Pink everything never worked for me.
I wonder if some photo filter trends will be regretted? I try to keep a regular print if I scrap with a filtered one. since my childhood photos are yellowed is hate to leave the same for my kids because I used a 1970 filter.

I don't get Watercolors. I like my papers dry. I do drip mist on my paper.

I forgot about chandeliers... Never got how/why that trend came about or what it was supposed to be a symbol of... Moustaches are hipsters, chandeliers are...??
The random birds are bad, but I absolutely detest butterflies... Love the real thing, hate any sort of illustration, stamp, die cut of them...

Mustaches, chandeliers (from a few years ago), foxes, deer (esp. with big antlers), owls (though some are cute), pineapples, most foiled pp, really pale papers/layouts where everything looks washed out.

When I've tried it, words disappear into the background and it looks like an afterthought... Also not into the eyes and smiles on cupcakes, fruits, balloons, etc... Gives me the same creepy feeling that clowns do...lol Haha. I don't get the faces on inanimate objects either.

Pineapples are big in Colonial vibe areas like Williamsburg. It means 'Welcome.' I think the next trend will be lightning bolts. My hometown has a "Castle" that was built in the 1830s. I remember going on a school tour as a child and the guide explaining that the Pineapple wallpaper in the foyer was a symbol to welcome guests. i quite like the pineapple trend. It took me a long time to like doilies but they have grown on me. I don't like mustaches and wonder why they are still around. I don't like anything that says "keep calm and....." (Although used a PL card that had a keep calm sentiment on it for the June stash challenge and was super proud of myself for using it). I don't like Bokeh patterns on papers although like Bokeh in photography.

Chandeliers. What the what? I'd forgotten about the chandeliers... I think it was symbolic of glitz / glam although I never used one on a page.
