I know most liberals feel that factcheck and NPR are pretty good, but I know my conservative friends feel that they are tools of the liberal agenda.
Obviously Fox has false advertising (not unbiased).
Are there any news sources that all can agree are unbiased or very close?
Curious for a couple of reasons.

I look at the news like a venn diagram. Each news agency is it's own circle, and in the place they all meet is the closest to the truth as we are likely to get.
I do think that most have their own way of looking at things. I tend to watch CNN the most, but good heavens, if there is an actual breaking news story they become a one tune band.

I don't think you'd ever find one that we ALL agree on...but that's what makes the world go round. How boring these boards would be if all the Peas agreed on everything. Wait...what??? Oh...if the Peas agreed on ANYTHING!!! LOL

Christian Science Monitor is the best in my book I was always taught that in school – but that has been ages and ages ago. Do not know if it still holds true…

I read a media study that found the PBS News Hour the most unbiased news sources. I doubt they have a very large viewership. I attempt to read/watch several sources and reach my own conclusions. I'm such a cynic that I don't put absolute trust with any one media outlet.

Do not know if it still holds true… I go to it when I am looking for indepth stories. So if I read something in the mainstream news and I want to know more.I think they tend to go deeper. Not sure how they are on breaking news.. but I think they do good in depth reporting. Sort of like the difference between a daily news show and weekly. But overall yes I find it fair.

I tend to read news, and I read mostly Washington Post ( probably not unbiased) and BBC.

I don't trust any of them, though I do watch Fox News. If any news source is talking about a speech, I try to read the transcript or original source of information. They all spin and take things out of context.
I've heard that the BBC is pretty good compared to the others, but I've never watched them, so I couldn't give a personal opinion.

I like PBS newshour... I think a story just came out that half the "news" on Fox is false....PBS does try to get commenters from all sides.

Every single one of them has a bias. Unfortunately, not everyone realizes that the bias exists.

Thanks. I know we will never ALL agree, but I was wondering if there was a source I hadn't heard about.
I love NPR myself, but I know some think it's of Satan.

Facebook...righy? Totally unbiased there. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) I typically read/watch both liberal and conservative viewpoints and then form my own conclusion. Or I can come here and watch people go toe to toe with links and arguments and it pretty much covers both side. Unfortunately facts can be spun.

I've heard that the BBC is pretty good compared to the others, but I've never watched them, so I couldn't give a personal opinion. I can't comment on BBC America but the UK BBC editorial team can be a bit left wing in their bias about what and how they report things at times. Even they are not completely unbiased, well not as much as they used to be! I think most media reporting is on one side or the other, some more than others IMO.

I think most major news sources strive to be very neutral.
I also think lots of people believe any news source that doesn't follow their personal political beliefs is "biased."

I don't think it is possible to get unbiased news. There was a time that you didn't know and could not guess a news reporters political point of view. There was a strict line of separation between news and editorial comment in television and print media. Over time those lines have blurred then completely disappeared.
It is hard to tell what the news is anymore. Is information being withheld or embellished? Are facts check and verified anymore? How often during a breaking news story is misinformation reported? If two random people tweet something does it make it true? I think the bar hasn't been lowered it's pretty much non existent.

Obviously Fox has false advertising (not unbiased). Are there any news sources that all can agree are unbiased or very close? Curious for a couple of reasons. They all lean one way or the other....and IMO people are too quick to have knee jerk reactions to initial reports, when it would serve us all better to actually find out all the facts and be open to listening to more than one news source. The news is reported by people who are imperfect after all. I watch fox news along with all the others and IMO they aren't the villains that so many make them out to be; they get some things right and some things wrong just like all the other news stations. They all feed off our emotions..the more negative or outrageous, the more likely they are to get attention. My biggest pet peeve with all the outlets is the fact they either have to dog on the dems or repubs and for me it's getting really old. I just want the facts and not the reporter's analysis (opinions), I'm capable of thinking for myself, thank you very much.

Christian Science Monitor was the first thing that came to mind. When I was in college and took international relations courses it was required reading.
