Did much better than I thought considering I haven't watched TV news, listened to radio news or read the newspaper in years. I got 10/12 though I should have got 9 because I completely guessed right the senator one.
I do miss watching the news, but we only have netflix because anything more isn't worth it to me. I miss radio news, but haven't found a good station for it.

Woohoo, 12/12!! Probably the highlight of my day. All downhill from here. Me too...but I keep CNN on as background noise, so I would have been embarrassed to miss any of those questions.

11 out of 12. I missed the Martin Luther King one which I consider a historical question rather than news.
I read the daily newspaper which is decent and the Sunday NYT. I also read both left and right websites and watch Rachel Maddow fairly often and some Fox News.
I was raised in a political family so news discussion was a frequent activity in my house.

Very interesting! I enjoyed the breakdown of results and was surprised at what groups did not know. Overall, though, it seemed like female college grads knew more than meals college grads. Must be the liberal arts education! But really, the Pope is from South America. That's a big deal! (and I am not Catholic) His policies do affect world thinking. Edit - 12/12

I got 11/12. The only one I missed was identifying the picture of Elizabeth Warren. I'm more like to read or listen to news than to watch it.

I'm surprised... I got 12/12 and I never watch the news and haven't in 10 years. I did guess on a couple, though.

12/12 but then DH has a news channel on all day so it's hard to not know what's going on.

I missed two -- identifying which photo was Elizabeth Warren, and picking out the breakdown of how many Republicans and Democrats are in the Senate. I consider myself to be well-informed because I read the paper (yeah, old-fashioned lol) and I'm married to a history/policy/current events fanatic. lol. Any time I don't know the answer to something, he'll know. and eta: I suppose in my defense, at least I know *who* Elizabeth Warren is, and I know who has the majority in the Senate. lol

The only one I got wrong was the # of seats each party hold in the Senate. That's the one thing I can never retain in news reports because I'm always forgetting which graphic goes to which.

11/12, I missed the Pope Francis one. Since I don't pay a lot of attention to the Pope (other than that I like his openness and how welcoming he appears) I think I did ok.

I don't consider myself up to date at all. I got 9/12 and was surprised I did that well.

9/12. But in my defence, some of the questions were about American political thingies and I know very little about them.

12/12 - and I agree the Martin Luther King question was more historical than current news.
I have a news page up most of the time and try to keep up.

12/12. I keep up with the news - mostly by reading. I had to think twice about MLK because although I recognized him, I couldn't figure out why he was on a current events question. I recently visited his birthplace and church in Atlanta. I know Elizabeth Warren's picture because she's one of my senators.

12/12. Like some others, I have news channels on in the background practically 24/7, so I would have no excuse for anything less than a perfect score.

We don't have cable TV, so I rarely watch the news. I get most of my info online. But I still got 12/12.

I got 12/12 but admit I guessed on the Senate question and could have gone with 3 or 4.
I respectfully disagree with those that say MLK Jr. was not a news question. Coverage of the 50th anniversary of the March on Selma was all over the news in March.

I got 12/12 but I think that's more due to newspapers I read than television. I have given up on both the tv morning and evening news because of all the fluff and Internet videos were annoying me to no end. There were so many real issues not being covered properly. Even with the Race related stories lately I felt the attention was given to more snapshot moments than information.

I'm quite proud of myself I got 10/12.The two I got wrong are not really that relevant to a Brit......how many women justices and the breakdown of the Senate.

I'm really impressed with those of you from outside the US. As we can see from the results, there are far too many Americans with lower scores than you. I know I wouldn't do nearly as well with a similar test for any country other than my own.

12/12.
The stats on how many people know how many women are in the supreme court were depressing.
