I like puzzle books. Now, my favorite is Dell, but occasionally I like to pick up a different brand for a different set of puzzles. So I have a "Games" one right now, and the ink they use in their magazines does not stand up to any erasing at all. Some games, like word games, or sudokus, I play in ink, so it's not an issue. But maze type games I like to try in pencil first, and tend to need to erase a time or two. And the first time I erase, I start losing the parts of the game that were printed in the magazine. So I think puzzle books should stand up to at least one or two gentle erasures before the ink erases away.

I suppose if we were better at the puzzles, we wouldn't NEED to erase.

I like crosswords and Sudoku. I buy the ones by Kappa. The paper is pretty cheap in all of them, I think.

I used to buy puzzle magazines occasionally, but now I do them online, and have occasionally won a prize or two as well.

I like crossword puzzles. But it's hard to find the sweet spot of puzzles that are hard enough but not so hard that I give up. These are big problems we have here.

I wish I could find one of these books that was just logic problems. They're my favorite, and there's usually only a couple of them in the game magazines.

I know that Dell at least definitely does sell issues that are Logic puzzles only. i love those! I have one right here. It's called "Logic Lover's Logic Problems". I laminate the covers on them, because they take me awhile to finish and the covers totally fall apart from being handled so much.

When I was younger, Dell & Penny Press were separate, but now they are one entity even though they still sell the magazines under their own names. I started off with Dell as a little girl, because my aunts subscribed to them and they would let me work some of the puzzles out when I visited them. As I got older, I much preferred Dell to Penny Press. Then I found the Games magazine by Kappa and they seemed to have more difficult puzzles to me. Possibly just because I am so used to the Dell ones that I have an idea of the way they work and what words tend to show up in their puzzles, etc. Obviously, based on my eraser sitting next to me today, the Games ones can still be head scratchers to me.

I have an app that I do them on at night sometimes, but I've been through them all, more than once.

So, I've been looking for solving tips for Hashi problems and find some right on the website that made the puzzle in my magazine. It says "When solving on paper, use a soft erasable pencil and a high quality eraser." I'm trying, LOL! Honestly, though, I feel like the tips are like the sample problems in my son's math book....the examples are way easier than what I'm actually trying to solve.

Crosswords are my thing.

Crosswords are my thing. I tried the game online, and that one was much easier because every time you hover near a circle, it shows all the possibilities for it, plus you can keep checking to see if you are right. On paper, I keep nearly finishing the puzzle before I realize I have an error. But now I'm just being stubborn. I will beat you, puzzle!! :::insert evil laugh here::: I'm finally starting to get the hang of them, so the online game & tips must have gotten something moving in my brain.
