Is it hard for you to get rid of scrappy stuff....?

I either sell stuff at the local scrapbook store annual sale. I box it up as the year goes along and if I don't miss it by the time the sale rolls around I figure I don't need it. Then stuff that doesn't sell I donate. It is a lot easier for me to let it go if I know it is going to a good cause! Good luck!

I can purge the rest of my house without even flinching or questioning. But scrappy stuff nope.
I'd keep the stamps maybe. Rest give away or maybe keep for next year.

Yes I have a problem letting go of my scrap stuff. I'd rather hold on to it at this point because old has a habit of becoming new in the scrapbook world. Many times I was happy I had something in my stash! So while I still have room, I'm not going to purge anytime soon.

I have a hard time getting rid of stuff, too. I have some old Wild Asparagus paper that annoys me upon sight of it but I still haven't thrown it out or given it away. Although, I will say that I have found a few sheets of it to be useful in the past year or so. But is that reason enough to keep it? I don't know. On the bright side, feeling this way has helped me be more selective about what I buy now.

No; donations not only free storage space for supplies I will use, but encourages others' creativity. I suggest you donate those items without guilt to someone who will use them! 

It depends what it is. Paper, washi or embelishments I know I won't use easy purge either give away or donate. Other things are harder. I sold some cricut carts before our move last year but have trouble getting rid of stamps and dies. Now I know that I could purge some dies and never miss them but can't bring myself to do so. I haven't used my sizzlet alphas in I don't know how long but I moved them and they are still here. I need to use them soon or donate. I told myself I would give it a year in the new house. They will get donated as I don't know anyone local that would want them unless I save for our community garage sale in October.

No. I have a small space and if I start to outgrow my storage, something needs to go. I also get overwhelmed by too much stuff, so I try to keep my stash manageable.

If I'm at the end of a collection or kit I get sick of it as well. I know I'll never grab for it again (my history has proven this to me over the years), because there's always something else I'd rather play with! So I put the scraps in a ziplock and out they go into my sell/donate/give away pile. Same with mostly used matching stickers, too. If you're sick of it, odds are you will not miss it!

Case in point, I got the Simple Stories I Am line in a kit this year. Loved it. Made two double pages, two single pages and a handful of cards out of it. I was SO SICK of that stinkin paper! Lol! I had very little of it left, so I scooped it into recycling.

You girls know I love Tuesday Morning and I love to get good stuff for good prices. This helps me not to feel so guilty about not using every single piece of paper in a 6x6 pad, etc. I can let it go, I got my money's worth, got joy from using it, and have layouts in my albums to prove it. and even if it was a regret purchase you've never used, move it out to make room for the stuff you DO love & use. It's ok!

There's a craft sale here that I have sold stuff through before. When we had an LSS I sold at their yard sales too. I've also donated stuff to various places (to a teacher friend, domestic violence center that was looking for craft stuff), etc. I also recycle my paper scraps that aren't worth saving, donating or giving away. Larger sized scraps have always sold well for me. I put a bunch in zip locks and price low.

I tend to hold onto stamps and tools, but I can purge paper and such, it just doesn't happen very often. So my dd uses the things I'm not crazy about (and many that I am). This fall I'm teaching an art journaling and a scrapbooking class at our homeschool co-op, so my purged pattern papers (have a 3-4" stack) and probably some of my pads that I've use quite a bit of will be repurposed there. In the past, I've given supplies to my older nieces and to good will.

I agree, if you have a use for the older stuff or just plain like it, there's no reason to randomly purge. When I was going through my stuff, seriously item by item when I was unpacking, I came across a lot of stuff that I not only still liked, but that I remembered exactly what I bought it for years ago! (And no, those projects never got done because everything has been packed forever!!) Eventually I'll get around to actually scrapping those photos, LOL. I might be an (even grayer) old lady when I do, but I *WILL* get to it now that I know where it is AND have a functional space. 

I donated a couple of boxes of my scrapping stuff, one being a box of just paper. Even after all that it didn't make a dent. I'm planning to make time on my vacation so I can purge a bit more.

I definitely think stuff cycles back in. If I still love it, I keep it, even if it's not trendy anymore. I kept a few sheets of an ombré type of paper from foooooooreveer ago I still thought it was pretty. And guess what's back in style?! Ombré. Ha.

So far I haven't regretted getting rid of any purged items.

Not anymore...it used to be. I have been scrapping for over 10 years now and I know my own tastes, and what I will use and what I won't. I used to be a user of paper flowers and more "romantic shabby chic" bits, but no more, so out all that stuff went. I gave it to my kids who don't care what style something is so much, as long as it is theirs, and they are free to use it however they want. A child's eyes just shine when you give them a whole unused sticker sheet! They could care less if it is from 2005.

I am sort of a "if I like it it can stay forever" sort of person. I mix old and new supplies on a whim, if it suits me. I still love sequins, gems, glitter etc I don't care if other people don't, or it is not trendy anymore, that is part of my style that doesn't seem to change much. I have a massive stash of old Sassafras Lass that will never be purged and I slowly use it, incorporating it into layouts where it works. I was HEARTBROKEN when they shut up their scrappy business. I also have an equally huge October Afternoon pile, old and new...I even went so far as to seek out the entire collection of Seaside because I had perfect pictures for it.

If I still like it, it stays, if I look at it and say, "WTH?!" off it goes. I purge fairly regularly. I feel with less stuff I spend more time creating and less time searching for that "perfect" item to complete my page. The truth is there is no one perfect item lots of options wil make a beautiful page!

At the crops I go to there is always a table of stuff people don't want free for the taking.  I spend more time 'shopping' at the free table than I do going through my own stuff to donate.

I have a fear that when I have grandchildren, etc, that I will wish I had that Easter paper or school paper that I won't be able to get anymore.  So I hoard it all even if I have already used it.

I am happy to share though.  If someone is looking for a specific thing and I have it, I will give it to them.  For example, I have a piece of paper with the Presidential seal all over it and a lady was scrapping photos of the President and I offered her 2 of the seals from the paper.  I suggested she cut them out and pop dot them and she was thrilled.

But I can't give her the whole sheet.  Oh no!  I might need it someday!
