So I decided to update some seriously 90s oak cabinets in our main bath. I followed all the normal steps any OCD DIYer would and I now need advice on hardware. How long should I wait before putting the doors back on? I don't want anything to stick together and end up with a huge mess. Hours? Days? Weeks?

It all depends on the type of paint you used, oil or water based, the humidity, heat, etc. Wait until it's very dry to the touch, then wait about a 3 days longer.

Sorry, I should have included that I used water based so it feels dry fast but I know better than to get ahead of myself. I think I have the patience for 3 days. Thanks!!

I would love see how they turned out. I am thinking about painting ours upstairs.

I just did my MB last year and I waited about 3 days to put them back on but what was weird was that they still seemed a bit tacky. I then put a fan in there for a few days. I used a water-based wipe on poly to protect them. I couldn't understand why it took so long for them to dry. I live in Vegas and it's very dry here.
