Our town had one years ago for a really short time. They opened and never got any new stock in. They were open for less than a year I think. Locally I have a Michael's and JoAnns and an AC Moore about one hour away. I went into our JoAnns yesterday and they had only one aisle of scrap stuff.  I do the majority of my shopping online. I hate not being able to see products in person before purchasing. So, if any of you have a LSS I'm really jealous!  |

Nope...we used to. We only have Michael's and Joann's. Oh, and Hobby Lobby is close.
The smaller stores and Archivers are long gone.

No, our local scrapbook stores have closed years ago. The only store around here is Micheal's. The closest one is about 30 minutes away. I haven't gone in recently. I've slowed down my scrapbooking and am really trying to use up the stash I have on hand. For the bit of scrapbooking I do these days, I honestly cannot justify spending money on more "stuff".

yes we have 2. One is technically arts and crafts but they carry a large selection of newer scrapbook supplies. The other is strictly a scrapbook store and the moved into a much larger space last year. they have room for huge crops.

I don't have a traditional LSS, but I am within easy driving distance of a Michael's & an A C Moore. If I don't mind a much longer drive, I can also go to a Joann's & Tuesday Morning.

The closest LSS to me is about an hour away in semi-average traffic. But there are a couple of Michael's and I think an AC Moore within a reasonable distance.

The closest one is about 45 minutes away, off of a toll road. They do have a nice selection and the staff is super nice. I just don't seem to get there more than once a year.

We have a great one up the street. I think they just had their 17th anniversary. She has lots of new (and old) stuff. They do a lot of business with cards so I think that helps them a lot. She always has designers coming in to show how to use the tools. I think she is a pretty good businesswoman though. She is very good at getting people IN her store. I do worry though that they could close. It happens everywhere.

No.  There is one about 45 min away, but that is an hour and a half round trip for me, plus the shopping time, with a toddler  Her hours aren't all that convenient for me and I have to take DS, so I very rarely go. We have lived here 2 years and I think we've gone 3 times. Also, she tends to carry stuff that's not really my style. So I'd rather place an online order and get what I do want. Even if I have to pay actual shipping, it's still cheaper than my gas to get out there/back. When we first bought this house, Archivers was a few miles down the road. It was pretty awesome. I miss it. They closed in October that year, so only had that luxury for a couple of months and I wasn't scrapping much then, so I didn't take full advantage. |

I live in a rural area. So within an hour there's a photo processing/scrabook store (very small), SEI outlet store, Simple Stories store (can't remember the actual name), a scrapbook store/crafters who sell other items. There are some other places that have scrapbook areas like Wal-Mart.

Nope. Where I moved from had three left a year ago and is now down to one with very limited summer hours. . I remember having 15 at one point. I miss having a LSS no local yarn shops either most of those have closed as well.

No. We used to have one in my town, one in the town to the East of us, one in the town to the West of us and one in the city where I work (although nowhere near my offices). They're all gone. We have Michael's but the papercrafts section isn't great. I like to order online anyway....I love to get happy mail!

I live in Northern VA. It's a very large metropolitan area. We used to have multiple LSS at one time. A year ago, the last remaining LSS closed. It was an awesome store. We still have the usual big box stores, but we also have a stamp store and a paper arts (multi media projects rather than scrapping) store. Both have some scrapping papers, as well as other types of products I used to buy at the LSS, but patterned paper is my weakness, and their selection is limited. They are also much farther away. I don't get to either one very often. I bought so much when the LSS was closing, that I really don't need much (if anything) these days.

No, my area (within an hour either way) had at one time at least 20 LSS and 30 in my state at least. They are ALL gone. Every one of them - closed. I do spend alot of time in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and there are still several stores in the area. I usually hit at least one of them when I am there.

Sadly, no - we had two but both closed within the last few years. We have Joann, AC Moore, Michaels and Hobby Lobby here; but the nearest LSS that I know of are about 2 hours away. I always seek out stores when I travel but I'm finding less and less of them.

I do not have a LSS and I really miss having one. It's been about two years since I have been to a real LSS. We have the big box stores and Tuesday Morning but they just aren't the same.

I have two that I go to regularly. One has been in business for many years. She has branched out into fabric (quilting) and art supplies. She has a lot of classes with the big name scrap celebrities, so I think that helps their business a lot. The other one is smaller and has a lot of card making classes. The two stores carry different products, so they aren't really competing with each other. There is a third one about an hour away that I go to once in a while. That one is huge, and I can get really carried away there!

There was one very close by that I loved, but they closed about 8 years ago. They had an inspiring design team, always had new products, hosted fun make-n-takes, and the owners were so nice. I still miss it so much.

Actually there is one, and I went into it 2 summer's ago. That was the one and only time I was in it. It was a lot of handmade stuff, a few older paper lines with a current thrown in. And instead of feeling like I was invited in to shop to my heart's content, I felt like I was being watched constantly like I might shoplift their pitiful supplies. (Granted the owner wasn't in and her friend was filling in for her, but still....) Unfortunately, in the other direction from home, their was one I went in that I loved, and that is the one that went out of business last year. So I have Michaels and Joann's and online shopping.

I used to live in an area that had several LSS. I could take my pick on where I wanted to shop. These days there's one about 20 minutes away. It's an OK store. It's nice to be able to see and touch what I'm buying. It's not a big store, but it's nice to have it fairly close by. There's also a Michael's and a Joann's, but neither one has much of a scrapbook section. I don't shop online very often so my stash isn't growing nearly as fast as it used to.

We have 2 LSS left now that Archivers closed. Neither get in a lot of new product and not the collection packs that I like. I don't buy from the one and not much from the other one. I like to crop at the one but they don't have late night crops every weekend. They do have frequent weekend themed crops I go to occasionally. I still really really miss Archivers!!!

I have one about 25 mins away but I mostly only go there when they have their big sales. They have a lot of older stuff and sort the store by theme so I often have trouble finding what I want. By only shopping there a couple of times a year I manage to come home with a decent pile goodies.
I have a Kaisercraft outlet store not too far away and a couple of Spotlight stores (which is our version of J's or M's).
There are still a couple of stores around but definitely not as many as there were 3-5 years ago.

I don't have one either. We had an Archivers but it is now gone. I just order online and check out TM, HL and Michaels. I got to go to Whim-so-doodle in St Perersburg when we were on vacation over spring break and it was so nice to be in a "real" store. They had so much! However I would probably really be poor if I lived near one as good as that  |

I'm lucky to say that I have two within 30 minutes of me. And I live in a rural, small town area so that is considered local! LOL! Plus, it's saying a lot that in this small town area, we support two stores and keep them both going. If I drive a little further, I also have access to M's, J's, and HL. It's pretty awesome!

I live in a rural area too- there is J's but they have had mostly the same skimpy selection in the 13 years I have been scrapping. HL is also an option but I'm usually not in love with any of their brand of products and they don't seem to carry much of anything else. I do like HL for mixed media supplies though. The nearest M's is 3plus hours away. About 7-8 years ago there was a very cute lss 2 hours away. Sadly, they closed a year after I discovered them. I shop online- when I'm not frozen.
