I selected the color (SW Hearts of Palm), & the builder painted my scraproom before closing. Although I still like the color almost eight years later, I'm considering a change. If you were to paint your scrap space today, what color would you choose? Why?

My space is a pretty neutral greyish green. It was chosen to coordinate with the colour in the adjoining rooms not because it is my favourite colour. I also had to choose something that I wouldn't get tired of too easily because repainting that room will be harder than repainting any other room in the house!!

I just painted my scraproom SW leisure blue in May. I love it. Goes great with all the white ikea furniture I purchased and my black desk.

I painted the top half white/cream and the bottom a deep bright red. I have all black furniture with teal accents. I generally don't do any white. I love color, so white is too bland for me, but I have so much stuff on the walls and the tall furniture blocks a majority of the walls. It used to be pea green/deep beige (sand).

I have 2 spray paint cans that I love the color of. One is a blue and the other a green. (not sure of actually shade) I thought of going with one of them. Then I thought about when I hang layouts up and how they'd clash. So now I'm considering an off white with the blue, green, and a pink accents. Right now it's a midnight blue and has one very narrow window. That's the color it was when we bought the place. I can't wait to get it painted.

Great question! I've been struggling to pick a color for my room. Maybe I'll get some ideas on this thread.
Mine is currently a sandy beige color, compliments of the previous owners. I don't mind it, but I'd like something new. And it is really in need of a fresh paint job anyway.
I have all black furniture and the room is tiny. I do have a big window, but a big tree blocks a lot of the light.
I'm thinking a paler or medium toned grey? But I don't know. I don't want it to end up with blue or purple tones, as some grey can.

Last time it was a lovely shade of green but I do not remember the name. This time I am going pink, soft pink.

After trying to decide between blush pink, sage green or a rich plum for an accent wall, I finally went with a soft taupe for the entire room. I used Lowe's Valspar, Lyndhurst Gallery Beige. It's almost boring beige, but I like it because it's neutral, and it's a pretty color, not too yellow, not too pink, almost gray.
I haven't decided on any curtain or fabric accents, so I might change my mind on an accent wall once that happens. I really wanted the plum, but I was afraid the ambient reflection would affect my ability to see colors correctly on my projects. The style I'm ultimately going for is sort of bohemian with soft colors. Maybe one of these days I'll get around to decorating instead of scrapping.

I think the ideal colour is anything that Invites you in to the room and makes you happy to stay there. I inherited my DD's old room when she took over DS's room after he moved out. Hers was already a nice medium grey so I kept that and added accents in teal and white. I really love it. It makes me happy and it feels like MY SPACE.

My last two spaces were a soft green (more toward the lime end of the spectrum). Loved it! Green is supposed to promote creativity.

I completely changed my room a couple of years ago including the floor and new furniture. I have SW Swimming Pool on the walls and it's the perfect shade of turquoise, not too light and not too dark. I love being in that room. It makes me happy and motivated. I will have to see how to post a pic so you can see it.

If I ever get my room cleaned out so I can make it a scrap room I am going to paint three walls white or off white and one wall an orange color. But not straight up orange, kind of an orange with a little pink in it. Kind of a coral color. Hard to describe but I know what I want. Then I will accent with pink, turquoise, and bright green. Not a lot, just a little here and there. Now...to just do it! LOL!

My room is a Valspar (Lowe's) color called Marble Tile. It's a warm gray. I've had my room different colors before and have come to prefer a neutral color so the decor in my room doesn't compete with whatever I'm working on.

Currently the walls in my scraproom are builder beige/light cream. I will be having it repainted in the next few weeks a true light grey. Picking out a grey with no warm or cool undertones is ridiculously hard. LOL. I need to get some samples up on the wall soon. My DH wants us to paint it and normally I would prefer to save the money however the ceilings in the room are 15 feet so I'm nixing that idea.

My builder refused to paint my walls other than the typical off white. Something to do with their equipment being dirtied or whatever...so I have the builder beige too. My furniture is white with black and white accessories and pops of apple green and bright pink. Since all my scrappy goodness is already stuffed in there, I'm eyeing the air duct soffit on the ceiling for a coat of apple green. Should pick up the green accents all ready on the walls and shelves nicely. We'll see

We just finished painting. My old room was a deep khaki which I liked. The new room is a much warmer beige. I wasn't thrilled with the color before we painted but it complimented the tile floors which I wasn't replacing. Now that the room is painted, white baseboards are up and white furniture going in I really like it.

I just painted my new room SW Rainwashed. It's a pretty light bright Aqua color. I love it. But I have nothing in the room yet. Still trying to work out the layout

The top half of mine is Benjamin Moore Atrium White, the bottom is a very light sand color (painted over previously dark brown beadboard). The carpet is light tan. My space is in the basement and I have limited natural light coming in so I needed to have light/white colors on the walls to brighten the space up. I've had the same (non)color in my studio for the past 20 years and I never get sick of it because it's like a clean blank slate. I add in color with furniture, artwork and accents, which is a lot easier to change up than painting the walls. Right now my accent colors are dark brown, tan and pink in limited doses.
FWIW, when I lived in my old house my DH finished off and built out my attic studio space the way I wanted it which included putting in new carpet (not my first choice, but oh well). I picked a really pretty rose pink carpet that I thought I would love forever. Let's just say that forever is a long time, and the love didn't last! Part of my job includes taking photos, and that carpet would reflect onto the walls (also Atrium White) and give almost every picture a lovely pink cast that had to be corrected out in post production. It was a huge pain. Never again will I choose a bright color for any major part of my studio.

I would paint it pale yellow or very very light blue.
Yellow would be a happy color and blue would be relaxing.
