Update 7/13/15 - We had another ultrasound and fetal monitoring this morning and nothing has changed. His heartbeat is strong and he's passing all the testing, which is AWESOME, we could even see his lungs moving today on the screen as he practiced breathing. My cervix is locked up tighter than Fort Knox, but they will be inducing me on Weds morning. I can't wait to hold my son! Here's hoping I don't break the lil peanut! Your prayers and thoughts have meant the world to both me and DH..thanks for continuing those!! ***** DH and I had a growth ultrasound for our baby due Aug 5th last month and his femur bone was measuring a few days behind, throwing him into the 15th percentile for weight. They said not to worry as everything else was right on track. Today was the follow up and now everything is showing behind and he's now dropped into the 4th percentile. He's measuring approx 4 lbs 15oz and his growth is on par for a 33 week old baby instead of 36 weeks. They are monitoring me and if things don't change, they will be inducing me mid-next week. I know that God has His arms around my family and is totally in control and I'm just trying to have faith that Luke will be here soon, safe and sound and I'm thanking Him in advance for no NICU time. Thanks for praying for us. Happy update. Yay!

I know this isn't how you imagined things, but all indications are favorable. It looks like he will be a 37 week baby, which has a very, very good outcome. My second baby was born at 37 weeks and did really well.
Some things to consider. Will they have him in the NICU because of the circumstances? My first baby was in the NICU as a precaution and I was told this before they even induced his labor. That made it easier, as it wasn't a surprise. DD (#2) wasn't in the NICU, but in "observation." I was given time for a quick family photo and a kiss for her before they whisked her off within a minute or so. But she was back by the time I was out of recovery and in my regular room.
Also, the induction may take a while if your cervix isn't ready for business. I was dilated to 3 cm? 4cm? when the started the induction for #2, but that had happened a month earlier. Things were very slow to start up again. Thursday night, they applied a prostaglandin gel to my cervix and started pitocin about 12 hours later (Friday morning). Then 12 hours after that, they shut everything down (Friday night) and had me sleep for about 8 hours. I was told that sometimes there is a better response with letting things ride a bit before trying again. Sure enough, the next morning (Saturday) they had me with good, regular contractions by 9 am. By mid afternoon, I was dilating fast. She was finally born (vaginally) at 8:05 pm Saturday night, but I pushed for at least 3 hours. (I'm small and she was 8 lbs, 3 oz.) This was 16 years ago and a VBAC, so things may have changed in that time. But it gives you something to talk to your dr about. I really thought that on Friday night they would do the c-sect, but the dr said it all looked good, so they wanted to keep going.
My prayers are with you for a speedy delivery and the safe arrival of your little guy!

Great news! May I ask why the Dr wants to induce now and not wait unt you go into labor? Curious....
Prayers!

My prayers are with you for a speedy delivery and the safe arrival of your little guy! We've asked about the likelihood of NICU and they said they won't know anything until he's born and see how he's doing. They say that 37 weeks is considered full term so I'm thanking God ahead of time that he is strong and won't need NICU. At all. The doctors have said that this likely won't be a fast process since my cervix isn't open for business. They said it's possible that I could have him Weds night or even into Thursday. So we will see. caro they are concerned about his slow growth over the past few weeks and so they are taking him 3 weeks early.

Prayers for an uneventful labor and delivery! Can't wait to see the little guy. Just remember, little doesn't mean anything is wrong, some babies just grow better outside later in the pregnancy. (I had one to stop growing around 34 weeks, he was small and perfect and still small and perfect as a teenager.)

So glad to hear the good news. When you see Luke's beautiful little face the joy of that moment will be unlike any you've ever experienced. Nothing is as wonderful as the first time you hold your newborn.

Great update! Continued prayers for you and Luke!
My oldest daughter was born 4 weeks before her EDD, to the day. (EDD June 22, birthday May 22) Other than being born early she was a 'text book' delivery. My mucas plug presented about a week before my water broke, 9 hours of back labor, 35 minutes pushing, and she was in my arms. She weighed 7 lbs 10oz and went home with me after a 24 hour stay. I still wonder if her EDD was wrong.

Thank you for the update! Please continue to update us! Will continue to think of you and pray for you both. Also, if you or a friend has a chance, I'd go purchase some premie things just in case - you can even leave the tags on & return if you don't end up needing them. That way he's assured he won't go home naked
