Another vote for 3 ring albums!!! Scrapthology I think the curl you are having is just what happens from the weight of the pages.

I love 3 ring binders and it's all I buy now. You can get so many more pages in them and that alone is worth it to me. I have about 60 albums, so I won't be switching them over from post bound to 3 ring, but moving forward, that is all I will use. Most of my post bound books are around 3" thick! I have lots of layouts in them, I just use spacers to keep the books relatively flat. I used to just go buy longer posts at the hardware store, but now I use the SnapLoad things which makes them expand quite a bit. What limits me now is how long the spine cover for the album expands to, but I suppose with a little creative re-engineering and some coordinating fabric that could be easily solved too. I should add that I do two page layouts almost exclusively, so that gap between the pages really ruins the visual flow of the layout for me. It probably wouldn't bother me nearly as much if I mostly scrapped one page layouts. Mine are ridiculously thick too. I do a lot of pop up stuff. I am having trouble finding a PB album I like since CTMH discontinued the one's I used. Hopefully when the new catalog comes out, they'll have some good albums in there.

Those were nice albums. I'm waiting to see what CTMH comes out with too. I used to like the ones from Dalee back in the day but haven't seen them for sale anywhere lately.

I HATE 3 ring, mainly because I do double layouts and don't like the gap or the sagging pages (and I don't do heavy layouts but the pages still sag). I have one and use it as a WIP album.
I would also use one to store all the pages until the whole album is finished - then transfer them to a post bound. I just bought 2 more 3 rings from Amazon just so I can do this! Once they're in the order I want them, then I transfer them over. I feel like I need to start a support group for the old-school strap hinge albums! I tried to do a 3-ring binder and hated it, I had to take everything apart and go back to my strap-hinge album. I love my cloth Creative Memories strap hinge albums and second choice was cloth close to my hear post bound albums. I still have a couple of CM ones left, not sure what I'm going to do when I run out. I don't like the Ahni and Zoe stuff, I might try the Heritage Makers ones. I've always love the fabric of the CM albums, but the strap hinge was just too complicated for me, lol. As an aside, it doesn't look like Ahni & Zoe will be around much longer. Nevermind my messed up quote box. Here's the link: Ahni & Zoe closing down

I can't stand the gap for purely aesthetic reasons so I like post bound better. I also don't like that I've never ever had a 3-ring binder that the rings haven't come apart in the middle and the protectors start falling out. What I did do was to swap out the posts for the Pioneer SnapLoad things on my post bound albums. It's a huge improvement. I use the Pioneer SnapLoad "straps" on my post bound album. I actually don't put anything IN my album until I have all the pages done (keep them in memory keeper folders until ready to load up an album). I've never tried the 3-ring albums, but my issue with them is that I put SO MANY pages in my albums that there's no 3-ring one big enough for my yearly albums

I never thought I'd want to use 3 ring binders but I bought one and I love it. I rarely make 2 page LOs and even so the gap isn't a huge thing for me on 2 page LOs.

I went from strap hinge to post bound and now 3 ring. I love the ease of the 3 ring, and will use that from now on, but I would rather spend time scrapping, than switch them out so over time I will have an assortment of albums. I do both 2 pagers and singles, I have learned to live with the gap. It does not bother me anymore. I just wish I had never thought I needed to make 2 side by side singles color coordinate. What did one Sons birthday have to do with his little brothers first hair cut??? But those two pages are color coordinated

Probably about 95% of my layouts are 2-pagers. I don't like the gap, so I prefer post-bound albums. I also think they just look nicer overall. I use the CTMH albums. The newest catalog is live now and they are still carrying the post-bound albums in 2 colors. They have had problems with the manufacturers, so that is all they have until the problems are worked out.
I do like a pp mentioned and have a 3 ring "staging album" that I put my layouts in when done and once a year or so I sort them into the album they will live in.

I use three ring albums and love them... Any time I've noticed sagging is if the page was exceptionally heavy near the outside edge of the page - if the weight is close to the rings it's more supported... I don't change how I create my pages or where I put them in the album, (I don't use a lot of dimension anyways), but if there's a page that's giving you a bit of a problem maybe switching it around could help... I find they also only sag if the album isn't full and they have room to flop around... Once the albums are full the bulk helps hold the pages against each other and upright... I keep albums that aren't full/in progress laying down, and then put them on the shelf standing up when they're full...
A friend keeps her in progress album standing up and she uses one of those big elastic bands (Smash book style product), to keep the covers closed/tight and that hold her pages upright...

Me too. I bought a couple of WRMK albums but they aren't the same. Not sure what I'm going to try next. I love the 3ring concept, but they are so darn wide.
