There are many people who are much more knowledgeable about cameras than I am, but I did a quick compare to my current camera because I know my camera and what may be important to me when shopping for a new camera. The SL1 is less expensive. The SL1 has a higher ISO...which means you will have more (and better) low light shooting opportunities. The SL1 has a touch screen. The SL1 takes EF lenses...this is really important. The battery life isn't as good as with my T3i. The shutter speed seems to be a tad higher than with my T3i. From comparison chart I looked at ( snapsort.com/compare/Canon-Rebel-SL1-vs-Canon-T3i/specs ) the image quality is a bit less on the SL1 than on the T3i. One of the huge drawbacks (IMO) is that in this QVC "package", the 75-300 lens is not an IS lens. (IMO...with that lens length, you really need it to be an IS lens - Image Stabilization) With that said, if the long lens had IS, and I was shopping for a camera, I'd seriously consider making this purchase. But with that long lens issue and knowing how I shoot, without that IS lens I'd probably pass on this camera package.
