This former Philadelphian says rancher. ETA it is probably a ranch style house, informally called rancher. Agree, at least that's what we call it in south central PA.

We say both. That's a ranch house. They live in a rancher. I'm in south central PA if that makes any difference.

Pittsburgh person here.....we say ranch. I've never heard it referred to as a rancher!!!!

Here in Ohio and in the western portion of PA is just 'ranch'

I forgot I started this thread. The only thing I remember about the show was they were looking in the suburbs of Philadelphia, but I couldn't remember the exact area (N, S, E, or W) of the city.
