I have always used CM strap hinge albums and am almost to the end of my supply. I am trying to decide if I need to make a switch. I know the company is back, but I can't decide if I should keep using their albums. They would cost over $100.00 each. (The album is about $27.00 plus almost $60.00 for two sets of pages and $21.00 for two sets of page protectors.)
What type and brand of album do you use and if you will, why do you like that kind? Thanks for your help!

After scrapbooking for 18 years now, I have gone thru dozens of albums and have come to find out that the only ones that stand the wear and tear are the leatherish We R The Memory keeper ones. Those are the only ones I buy and I am slowly converting all my old albums over to those. I had so many of the paper ones begin to tear and get flimsy.
We R MK 3 ring leather all the way! Best albums out there IMO. Watch out for sales at Joann.com and you can get them for a decent price. They also show up on Overstock from time to time. They are pricey, but totally worth it. I used to use American Crafts cloth 3 ring binders and they just don't wear as well.
Like you I stocked up on the CM albums. I've tried post bound and WRMK and PL albums. I keep coming back to CM. I'm so glad they are back so I can continue to get their albums. I've also been lucky to get many at scrapping tag sales cheaply. If you're interested in changing I would start with buying one type at a time and try it out for style, quality... And see what you think. If you don't like it you can always try something else.

I only use the WeR 12x12 3 ring binder albums in Aqua. I have switched most of my albums and have no regrets at all. I just ordered another one yesterday.

I went at over a hundred dollars per album!
I use 3-ring WRMK 8.5x11" albums mostly (and some 12x12" albums for other subjects)
I always buy them on sale. I just recently bought five at ACM because they were $9.99 each on clearance. I will never see them at a better price than that.
I usually buy them on sale, or with a coupon, for 50% off. Usually makes them between $11 & $15 at Michael's or Joann's.
I buy boxes of heavy duty clear 8.5x11" page protectors at Office Depot. 100 count for $16.49
I'm pretty sure Staples also has their brand of page protectors.
I haven't bought 12x12" page protectors in a long while, but last time I did, I bought C-Line page protectors. I don't remember the exact price, but remember that they were less expensive than anything else I could find. I also bought them on sale at joann.com
**Note to readers** If I'm "liking" your sad post, it's because I'm trying to say, "I hear you. I'm listening. Your voice is valid." Not that I enjoy your misfortune.

I still like the look of a post bound, so the one I use is this one by Pioneer. The fabric has a similar feel to the older CM ones. I haven't seen the newer ones, so I can't compare. The WRMK page protectors fit. I haven't had any problems with them.

WRMK is my favorite as well. I switched to 3 ring binders since i do a lot of catch up scrapping and it allows me to easily change my pages around. The WRMK binders came highly recommended here and they really are well made. I got mine at Michaels with coupons and on Amazon where there are more color choices.

I use K & Company post-bound and We R Memory Keepers 3-ring leather binders. I like them both: the post-bound because they're sturdy and I like that there's no page separation between double layouts. The 3-ring due to the ease of use--easy to open/shut and switch layouts around if necessary.
(I have a bunch of old Creative Memories albums too just waiting to be filled. The finality of wall-papering chronological layouts into them has put me off, as well as the strap hinge. But I plan on eventually using them for my "every day life moments" pages.)

I only use three ring binders and all of mine are American Crafts. I would love to buy the leather We R Memory Keepers albums but they are just so expensive to buy in Australia and I have been getting some seriously great prices on clearance albums over the last year so I will stick to what I have for a bit but eventually I will switch over.
I use WRMK in black for Project life and I have about 30 CTMH post bound albums for regular scrapbook pages. I am a bit OCD about my bookcase I store them in. I have 21 CTMH brown post bound, 1 for each year of my daughter's life up to age 21. She is 17 now so I have time. I use the CTMH Outdoor Denim for her birthday pages, Cranberry for Christmas Pages, and Black for Halloween. Most of these are no longer available in these colors so I stocked up. It really looks quite nice all lined up on the shelves!
WRMK leather 3-ring album lover here too!!! I usually get them on Joanne.com, they are on sale often. I wouldn't replace my older albums,(none WRMK) all my albums don't match in color and size. I have an eclectic look on my bookcases.
I have always used CM albums, usually with top-loading full sheet pocket pages, and some with the regular CM pages (when I was organized enough to to a chronological album.) When they announced their closure, I calculated what I needed to finish up kids', family and a few more future albums. I purchased about 6 albums, pages, and page protectors, so I think I have enough to last me. I just can't get used to the idea of 3-ring binders, although I have done some 8x8 WRMK albums, and the concept is growing on me.
Ditto ditto ditto. LSS just had 50% off (soon to be gone colors maybe) and an additional 20-25% off on crop night. Like $12 for 12x12, $7-8 for 8x8 and $6ish for 6x6. Love!
I use the We R Memory Keepers 3 ring leather albums, American Crafts (or Recollections brand from Michael's) 3 ring albums and Project Life/Becky Higgins 3 ring albums. If you like post bound albums, Hobby Lobby has some that are good quality.
Definitely We R Memory Keepers leather 3-ring binders! I use the black ones, and they hold up very well. I buy them on sale at Joann's, Amazon, and scrapbook.com.
Whatever is on sale, American Crafts 3 ring are my fave for travel..so easy to move around. Though sometimes I struggle with how to decorate the front.
I have used the CTMH albums for years. I also stocked up when I heard they were discontinuing the color that I preferred, and then I found out they kept "my" color of album.

Actually I just checked the price for you on the CM albums-$60.00 would cover the cost of the pages and the protectors because they are now sold together, so you wouldn't need to add the extra $21.00 for the two sets of page protectors. The album itself is $26.50. So your total cost would be $86.50 plus tax and shipping. I am not a consultant. Just a satisfied customer. Personally though, I hate that they are now only selling the pages and protectors together. Some people don't even like using the protectors at all, like my mother, she just prefers the look of the pages alone.
Forgot to answer your question-For me it's CM albums. As a former pro photographer I want the best quality and longevity for my albums. I have found this in CM albums. Yes, they cost more-quality usually does. It's worth it to me. I did try CTMH albums once, the postbound ones, but they were so big and bulky, although I have to admit I sure did love having those slide in page protectors. Once CM came out with their side filling slide in page protectors I was back to CM.
For me I love the look, quality and size of CM. They offer slide in page protectors again and that's what I'm using. I have 20 new CM albums in my stash that I bought when they went out of business-I think I'm set for quite awhile. I do still have three CTMH albums in my stash and a lots of their page protectors. Hanging on to those too, just in case.
I still have a few CM albums too, but I now prefer 3 ring albums. For Project Life I'm currently using Simple Stores 6x8 Snap albums, but in 2016 will be switching to Studio Calico 9x12 albums to give a bit more room.
