Does anyone have a Cutterpillar Crop? If you do, are you happy with it? I have wanted one for a while, missed out on the Kickstarter, and waited patiently for it to become available. There aren't too many reviews out there since it seems like production/delivery has been slow.

If the functionality of the crop is similar to the Pro, then I can report I am very happy with the Pro. I just received it from my DH for my birthday last month and I am for the very first time actually enjoying cutting. I always had the Fiskars trimmers before, and while I do think they are an excellent company, the trimmers were only adequate and I had to change blades frequently and often go ragged cuts on cardstock with high fiber content. I am not finding that happening on the Cutterpiller Pro.

I have both the crop and the pro. The crop is nearly identical other than it being smaller and the base being made of plastic instead of metal (or whatever the pro is made out of). Because the cutting arm is the same on the crop as it is on the pro, it makes the crop a bit "side heavy." And they tell you not to lift or carry it by the cutting arm. But your natural instinct is to do just that. I can't tell you have many times I have grabbed it that way because the base is smaller and so light. I don't go to crops often (maybe once a year). I would take it but I find it's not something I really needed. I just took advantage of the Kickstarter price. It does seem to cut straight but I didn't "need" it since I have the pro. Let me know if you have other questions.

I agree I always seem to pick it up by the arm. I got mine from Kickstarter after a one year wait and I am not sure I would pay full price for this. It does seem to cut much straighter than other trimmers which is what I was hoping for.

I paid $39, and the most I would probably pay is $49 certainly not the asking price of $79. I think $79 is an awful lot for this trimmer IMO.

Thanks, everyone for your input. It sounds like I should wait on this. Or maybe just buy the bigger one and figure out a place to keep it, since it's really not much more expensive than the Crop. I don't really go to crops, so the portability is not really an issue, but I wanted the smaller one just because it would take up much less space in my scrap room.

If you don't go to crops, I would definitely just get the Pro! I slide mine on the floor underneath one of my storage units. It fits great under there, and I don't have to use countertop space to keep it. I trim on the floor too because I am always just doing something quick and easy. I don't do "bulk" items.

Oh if you don't need to travel with it then I would definitely get the regular one. I keep mine on the left corner of my table and while it IS big, I still have plenty of space to work. I had a MM large trimmer there in the past so I'm used to it. Love mine, btw.

I got in on the Kickstarter, so was able to get mine for $30. I like it much better than the large one. Not sure that i'd pay full price for it, but I do like how well it cuts.

I bought the crop on the Kickstarter deal. I have never used the Pro, so I can't compare the two. I do like how straight it cuts.
