I have a Heidi Swapp color shine that I love, but hadn't used for a while; it seemed to be clogged, but I took off the top, rinsed it out, and seem to be able to get water to go through it. I just can't get it to pump a spray of mist. Any ideas?

That's weird... just to clarify, you can pump/spray water through it, but not mist? Sometimes I find varying speeds/pressures on the spray depressor mechanism helps a stubborn sprayer. So, try pumping very firmly and quickly, then slowly. I think several really fast bursts/pumps usually gets my mist going.

I found that I usually have to let them sit in warm to hot water for awhile to make sure they are cleaned out enough.

Block the openng while you pump it to build pressure. Take your finger off and keep pumping.

Do these tips work on all pumps? I have some glimmer mist and October afternoon sprays with clogged pumps.

I have to say, Glimmer Mists are one of the worst when it comes to clogged pumps. the Heidi Swapp pumps are better to work with and so are the Perfect Pearls. I don't know what it is about the Glimmer Mists that make them clog so easily.

I must admit I never use them for spraying mist. I always open the lid and dab the end with my finger to make splatters.

I had a problem with one of mine too. I used warm water, etc. but the mist just dripped out of the sprayer. I took a long needle and ran it in and out of the nozzle. Worked perfectly after that.
