I started playing around with my new Fuse tool over the weekend. I noticed that the roller tip will drag in sections instead of turning. So, I end up with one area with a straight line instead of the perforations. I tried playing around with speed/pressure, but it continued to happen. Is anyone else having this issue? I can't figure out if it is user error or a defect.

The one time that happened to me I let it "warm up" for a few more minutes and it worked fine. I noticed that when the tool was cool the roller tip wouldn't move at all (at least mine didn't), so I'm assuming (and maybe incorrectly) that it only rolls once it is sufficiently warmed up.

In the reviews I've seen, that's what people say to do...be sure it warms up for at least 10 minutes before you try to use it. Someone also said they played around with using it where they were rolling towards and then rolling away from themselves, but I can't remember which they said worked better. And I have also seen in review videos that several people find it much easier to use if they use a glass mat underneath as the work surface rather than a craft mat.

I did let it warm up for 10 minutes, but I will play around with letting it warm a little longer.

I am using the glass mat and let it warm up. That is what has me a little stumped. I am going to play around with a little more before I look at getting a replacement. I just keep wondering if there is some "tip" I am missing....

I tried mine for the first time yesterday and was having the same problem. What I found is that you have to angle the tool closer to the page and "push" it up, rather than having a large angle between the tool and the page. When I held the tool "down" like this, the roller tip would roll instead of getting stuck and sliding across the page. It's kind of hard to explain - I hope what I've explained makes sense!

Mine has done that a couple times, it seems to be an angle/pressure issue for me. I've been able to adjust how I'm doing it and it works.

Thanks for the suggestion! I warm mine for 10-15 and that gets me 95% there. I think the pushing help will help.
