Let me preface this by stating I normally don't remember my dreams at all. This morning when I woke up I had a vivid memory of dreaming about working on a travel album. I was determined to find a sheet of black CS with a textured pattern like asphalt. I had nothing in my embarrassingly extensive stash, so I decided to make my own. I took a plain piece of CS and put it between 2 pieces of thin chip board. Put it in the middle of my street. And yep, you guessed it, proceeded to drive over it with my car, being very careful to align my tires so I wouldn't overlap the "embossed" pattern and "overdo" the effect. Please tell me I'm not the only pea to dream of doing something this crazy. Pleeeeeease. ?

Well, I have dreamed about scrapbooking, but I don't think my dreams have led to the same kind of creativity as yours. I think that is very cool.

It doesn't sound crazy to me. It sounds brilliant.

This made me laugh! I don't think you are alone- if something on a layout doesn't seem quite right & bugs me, I will leave it for a few days. I often "dream up" a solution. That tire embossing idea has me intrigued...

Hilarious! I've had dreams about scrapbooking before. Apparently one of my scrapbooking worries is lumpy pages because I had a dream that my embellishments were so lumpy that I couldn't fit them into page protectors and my albums wouldn't close.

That's hilarious!!! And not a bad idea I've dreamt of scrapbooking. Usually I'm not actually scrapping in my dream, but I'm thinking about it. Or I tell myself during the dream that this event/thing would be fun to scrap (whatever I'm dreaming).

Need to put scrapbook dreaming on my to do list! My friend's mom teaches preschool and they make cool paper for the kids with toy cars/wheels and black or orange paint. I am going to make page kits with trucks and other vehicles on it and your dream just reminded me that I could easily make cute pages doing the wheels and trucks! Thanks. Now two of our problems are solved.

Too much rain here to try today, and probably tomorrow. My next free day is Friday. I will definitely post the outcome. Think I will also take a photo so I can scrap the lengths I will go to to get the right look for a page. May as well go for broke with this one!

You are one funny new poster! I have never thought of doing anything quite like that, but don't worry, we get it. Truly, we do. I am sure I have done something crazy that only another scrapper would understand.

Not dreaming about scrapbooking specifically, but if I'm having a creative problem with a project it isn't unusual for me to come up with viable solutions while I'm sleeping. It happens a lot! I've learned to have a little notepad and pen by my bed so I can write things down.

You are not alone. I had my husband roll the spare tyre of the Jeep over cardstock after I had inked the tyre. The experiment with the actual Jeep had too much driveway brick pattern, too little tread pattern and this was not in a dream. I see you wanted the road pattern, not the tread, but just in case it is useful to someone I have since discovered an easier way to get this look: use the tyres that come on Lego models as they give great results with ink and with impressions in modeling paste. Hope you post more, I like your style. ETA: gazumped by 950nancy

That's so funny! ScrapsontheRocks, I've used hot wheels car tires on a card once.

The full size tyres, on the driveway as in my first attempt, nope. Didn't do my ink pad any good either
