We're trying a new recipe for dinner.. Slow cooker honey garlic chicken with veggiesThe photo looks good and our smells really good so I have high hopes! I used boneless skinless chicken breasts though since we don't really care for thighs.

I have no idea. After spending all day in an online training class (boring!), I'm pretty confident that it'll include booze of some sort. LOL

Breakfast for dinner. Yesterday I was up in the mountains and bought a bag of my favorite stone ground grits. I'll make cheese grits tonight and maybe just serve it with a fruit side. We've gotten in the habit of eating a really light dinner this summer. If you have an opportunity to try real stone ground grits, do so! It makes the instant crap you buy in the store taste like sawdust. If you are outside the South, do you even have any idea of what I'm talking about?! I'm a fan of grits, and agree that mill ground are the best. What brand did you get? What color - white, yellow or specked?

We're having grilled Italian sausages, roasted red potatoes, tomato & cucumber slices, blueberries & strawberries, and texas sheet cake for dessert.

If you are outside the South, do you even have any idea of what I'm talking about?! The past 2 summers we drove down to Tennessee and tried them at a few different restaurants. Sorry--couldn't stand them. Maybe they weren't the "real deal" or maybe it's an acquired taste? Either way, not for me.

My husband and son pester me often to try breakfast chimichangas. Our favorite local breakfast joint has this as a special once a month and it's delicious. So, I'll try it. I'm going to scramble eggs with bacon, onions, and cheese. Make it into a chimi and then make a pepperjack cheese sauce to drizzle on top. I'll also make hashbrowns and I have mixed berries left in the fridge.

@devildog, I hated grits when growing up, but I now love them. Restaurant grits are not generally good. The best restaurant grits are generally identified by the mill, and if they're not, they may not be good.

My in-laws are taking us out for my birthday. They came to my office and brought me a lobster roll for lunch, complete with coleslaw and fries and I'll be ordering a steamed lobster tonight. Tomorrow dh is getting me a 3 pounder from the fish market... after all, it is my birthday week I'm considering a visit to my sister in New London before mid-October just so I can have hot lobster rolls for lunch every day before the lobster shack places close down for the winter. Happy birthday and enjoy your lobster! Breakfast for dinner. Yesterday I was up in the mountains and bought a bag of my favorite stone ground grits. If you are outside the South, do you even have any idea of what I'm talking about?! Nope. No, I really don't. Grits are made from some kind of grain, right? But I have to say, you had me at "cheese." Put cheese in it, I'm sure I'll love it.

Okay. In theory, Chinese chicken salad (stop laughing!). However, reality is, I went out for lunch with my mom and brother, and I'm still not hungry. So we'll see. At least I stopped at Trader Joe's after lunch so there's fresh salad stuff. I was afraid I was going to get stuck eating the kind of elderly lettuce in my fridge.

I just checked my fridge and found a pound of bacon, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and celery. I have onions in the pantry. So I'm going to cook up the bacon and then add my veggies to sauté in the bacon grease. I've never made it before but how could you go wrong with bacon grease, right? What are you planning to eat tonight? Can I come to your house for dinner? We are having Pork chops, boiled potatoes (have been craving them the past few days) and green beans. I might have some sauteed cauliflower.
